James 3 says that not many should be teachers.

Paul's teaching in Romans 6-7 of how we can live like we're dead to sin and alive to God, and not be bound to the flesh , if we only reckon ourselves with Christ in death to sin and life to God.

Romans 8:10-12 also speaks of this.
