Pentecost sunday sermon

I loved preaching this on this past Pentecost Sunday!

In a nutshell.

Adam was placed in a Garden where he laid in a deep sleep so that he would not longer be alone. From his body, God removed his rib and then took time and formed the rib into the woman. Adam was no longer alone, and it was actually something formed from his own body.

Jesus is the last man Adam (1 Cor 15:45). He was slain on the cross and laid in a tomb in a Garden so He would not longer be alone. We were baptized into His death, and He came forth in resurrection glory and God began forming that which came from His body, the bride which is the church.

He preached 40 days about the KINGDOM. All of this was part of God forming the bride. He ascended into Heaven and sat on the throne of glory. And when the day of Pentecost arrived, His Spirit poured out into the earth from HIs throne (Rev 22:1-2) and filled the people to see the completion of the BRIDE'S FORMATION take place!

On The day of Pentecost, Jesus was NO LONGER ALONE!

Amen. The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Keep up the good work, brother.

Re: Pentecost sunday sermon

Any other thoughts from others on how the FORMING of the bride carried on from the restriction of Jesus until the day of Pentecost, and in what way?

Was she fully His bride until filled with His Spirit?

I believe that it was not until she was filled with Spirit was she the formed Bride. Espousals made women into wives before Marriage.

How, in the case of the believers, would an espousal work? If they weren’t filled with His Spirit, the Word says that they are none of His. That means they are not adopted into the Kingdom without it - not a bride.

Not arguing, just wondering how that would be possible.

Paul said he espoused the believers to Christ. That is a believer - one filled with the Spirit and who experienced Acts 2:38. They were espoused, not people who had not experienced Acts 2:28.

Yes, sorry, I see. Your point is the “forming” of the bride.

They seemed to go into hiding until Jesus appeared to them and instructed them for 40 days, and then they tarried in Jerusalem. So, I think being on their own, they were learning about fear - the thing that can stymie our faith and make us unproductive.
