Re: Are you ready?

I admit im nowhere near prepared. Too many immediate needs that I focused on while feeling no real hope for the future.

Now that we are digging out, I really need to work on putting a plan into action.

Im thinking on getting a storage unit and get it yearly and use it to store supplies since we are pressed for space here.

So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

Of course that means you don't work, get paid, and buy things, right? Oh, wait...

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Therefore, I'd be wary about off-site storage of necessary items. Just saying...

Also, "supplies" includes establishing key connections with other people in your area who can supply what you need. You just need to bring something to the table as well that they might need. A "mutual aid network" if you will. What folks used to call "community".

Re: Are you ready?

Hoarding in the name of religion is an activity I do not see in the book of Acts, nor anywhere else in the NT. Nor was it practiced by early Oneness Pentecostals in California.

Fearmonging is not a fruit of the Spirit.

Right, therefore you don't work, don't get paid, and don't have a refrigerator.

We do see in the book of Acts, where the early church sold all they had and tried living in a communal lifestyle, even though Jesus never once commanded them to do so. Should we do the same?

Having supplies in case of emergency is not the same as "hoarding".

There's a vast difference between preparedness and fear mongering.

And who were the LEADERS of the early Church when this having all things common episode took place?

Were THEY aware of it? Was it occuring apart from their knowledge?

Re: Are you ready?

In the book of Acts, we see that they sold all they had, those who lived in Jerusalem. The other parts of the known world did not do that.....

The reason that God moved on those in Jerusalem to sell all and give to a common good was that IT WAS GOING AWAY ANYWAY!!!
