An Evil Eye

There is no fear of God before their eyes.

As grand an invention as it is, television and it’s offspring have completely destroyed the spiritual fabric of society. Not only in America (less than 5% of world population) but in every industrialized nation. We must labor to keep in mind our place in history. It is estimated that some one hundred billion souls have walked the planet Earth since Adam.

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

The percentage of those one hundred billion souls who ever watched a television will be less than ten percent. Humanity has largely existed without it. As, then, we read of the confusing images rising and falling in the scriptures, perhaps the sudden rise of the television…in just the last two hundred years…becomes noteworthy in our studies. Both television and America are newcomers to the landscape. And at just over two hundred years old, both are globally significant. Besides television’s endless vomiting of smut and immodesty and filth on demand, it has become a daily crutch to untold millions. Jesus said:

The light of the body is the eye

Television is a direct line from the eye straight to the soul. Moreover it is considered so vital today that even government housing and welfare programs include it right up there with food, clothing, and warmth. People are completely hooked. They simply couldn’t imagine a world without it. We cannot count the millions of souls whose lives revolve around it, many spending days and nights watching the tube, only to wake up tomorrow and do it again. Soap opera’s and reality show’s, sports and battle bots, murder mysteries and games, games, games; successfully robbing precious souls of the little time they have. Blindly writing page after page in their book, to be opened on that great day.

Television is the whirly-gig we’ve set in motion, and it can’t be stopped or reversed. It is grandfather to all of the electronic spawn that would follow: the internet, the iphone, video and music streaming, etc… Media has swallowed this world whole, powered by our ever-evolving technology. It has completely normalized cursing, violated the conscience fabric of modesty and godliness, and lulled so many a soul down the river to Niagara. Oh sure, we can tout the excellent nature and science shows, or the worldwide news coverage, or state-of-the-art weather monitoring. But at the end of the day:

Every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

The wisest choice would be to join that other 5,800 years of humanity there with us in the great white throne room, who never even heard of media. Unfortunately that will be a major life reset, and a bridge too far for the vast majority. There’s no going back. Your only other option is to travel the slippery slope of self-moderation and godly filtering…an impossible task without the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

Television has also championed the normalizing and political correctness of homosexuality, or as the scriptures call it, sodomy. This is a most grievous breach of my Lord’s righteous instructions to humanity. A veritable botch upon the beauty of our Creator’s intent:

Male and female created he them

Scripture is neither vague nor gray in condemning this bizarre sin. There is no room for argument, it’s just wrong. Why do you think it lurked in the closet for 5,900 years? But today’s homosexual’s deny and defy that first shame. It has slithered out of the closet, through the media, and into mainstream society. It has been glorified on the big screen, celebrated with parades worldwide, and given a chair at the table of global politics. Nobody is even mentioning that it is an abomination to my Lord. So normalized that it is now against the law to go against these who boldly, in stiff-necked defiance, demand their acceptance. Do they want you to bake them a wedding cake? You gotta bake it.

And so through the wonder of the media wand it’s popularity soars. Homosexuality has become so common that even major denominations are fracturing over the issue of marriage. Men marrying men, and women marrying women. This sacred rite is mocked as these desperately seek God’s approval, cramming their sin beneath the great umbrella of His love. Society drapes a huge grace-blanket over this sin, and elects them to public office.

No matter what society tells you, this is not okay with my Lord. It is wrong in the scriptures, it is wrong in the whole history of humanity, it goes against the very nature of creation, and it goes against every individual’s conscience. Those who practice this botch know that it’s wrong, they just don’t care.

Sodomy is as a wild beast of hell let loose upon the earth in these last days. It has spiritually infected and devoured untold millions of souls. Yes, my Lord still loves every one of them until their last breath, if perchance they might turn from their wickedness. But this is a last-days spirit, destined to become even more blatant and forceful as the night draws on.

Just wondering the difference between T.V and a Computer w/Internet? In my opinion we (generally speaking) label sin as tangible things, which I’m not fully against. Yet, when we labeled the T.V set as sin, people had the mindset that the tube was the origin of sin. Then when the cell phone came about, the same people embraced it with open arms, after all it’s not T.V…. T.V back then seems innocent compared to what we have on a mobile device that can and does go everywhere we go. Be careful as to labeling things as “sin” and not focusing on the spirit behind certain inventions.

The evil eye is an OT reference to greed. Jesus echoes this when He mentions “your eye being evil” and finishes with “ye cannot serve God and mammon.”
