Question For UPC Pastors and Elders

1 Timothy
Chapter 2
12: But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

Why is this not obeyed in the UPC.

Bro. Winters ? :smack

Why just the UPC ? There are many Apostolic org's that do not obey this scripture as you have interpreted. So why the UPC?

Women are teaching because men sit back and let them by not obey the scripture and and following Jesus in their obligation to Him.
What is the word for woman in the Hebrew vocabulary? and what does it mean?

The Lord said " Do these women that these men let teach and usurp authority over men and stand up and preach as a man doeth, do these same women have access to this scripture in the Book of 1 Timothy in the Bible:

1 Timothy
Chapter 2
12: But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

Multiply choice..Choose 1.

A. Yes, they can read it in the Book of 1 Timothy in the Bible.

B. No, they cannot read it in the Book of 1 Timothy in the Bible.

One is correct and one is incorrect.

Please no theories or commentaries on this question.

Just pick A. or B.

You can read what a women is to God in the Book of Genesis.

Bert, I remember you from Mary Poppins!! Way kewl.

I take it you have issue with the way "UPC" does things in regard to women in ministry? I would need to understand your position better in order to really comment in that regard. There is a wide variety of beliefs on this topic - even in the UPC. My own beliefs are similar to that of the largest protestant denomination in the US - Southern Baptist which does not ordain women as pastors. However, even the UPC does not accept women in higher leadership positions.

Are you pro or con ordination of women?

Re: Question For UPC Pastors and Elders

To me it is disrespectful to read anything that I have posted and ask me anything that is disrespectful.

For example

If the Lord just got through telling me that he did not want to see me doing something

then I ask him if it was alright if I did it while he was not looking

Do you think he would count that as being disrespectful?

If you are not wise enough to converse with me with out disrespecting me in any way, then I recommend that you do not post anything to me.
