What is a standard of dress? And where do we get it? I have been in UPCI most of my life and have seen one split after another because of what has been called standards of dress. When I was a kid, I have been in different churches that preached a standard and those that did not. And both had the same move of God. This was before any split as we have seen in the past 20-30 years.

What I have seen is that standards of dress has garnered a spirit of judgement from the saints and pastors alike. Which Christ taught against. I have seen more God loving people chased off from holiness churches because standards of dress in one form or another.

Now we have hard line Pentecostals that teach a standard of dress in one organization, and those that don't teach a standard of dress in another. And those that teach as standard seem to be just holding on while those that don't reaching hundreds and thousands, without a spirit of judgement just a love of God.
