Gietner Speaks, Dow Drops 5%
Man! Obama is having a rough first 100 days! Treasury Secretary spoke to Congress about the bank bailout proposal. The Dow's reaction? Dropping 5%. Gietner is getting pummled in the press, even traditionally liberal outlets. Is Obama ever going to have a good week?

Re: Gietner Speaks, Dow Drops 5%
"Geithner would have been better off not giving a speech until he could put real meat on the bones. What he pulled Tuesday was a classic rookie move that will further erode the public’s trust in his capabilities. Following the controversy over his late payment of taxes, this bank-plan blunder could be another nail in his coffin. Apparently, Tim Geithner is not yet ready for prime time." - Larry Kudlow

Yes and Congress had absolutely no part in it. A Democratically control Congress I might add......... .......I wonder which party was in cotrol and got the housing mess started?
President Bush and President Obama do not make the laws nor control the purse strings of the Nation. That happens to be the job of the Congress.

Much of his problems have been self-inflicted Aquila. This bunch looks very amateurish. He can't blame Bush for cabinet picks that dodon't pay taxes. He can't blame Bush for the $350 million TARP $---he voted for it! Can't blame Bush for Giethner's poor performance.
