Jesus Prayed For Peter And Predicted His Denial
Luke 22:31-34
New King James Version (NKJV)
31 And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”
33 But he said to Him, “Lord, I am ready to go with You, both to prison and to death.”
34 Then He said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster shall not crow this day before you will deny three times that you know Me.”
This is the first time I have read this, and caught that Jesus prayed for one of his disciples.

Sister Cindy! I love the Word it is alive and breathing and sharper than any two edged sword.
Sometimes during my morning devotional time, I will be reading scripture that I have read numerous times and its all of sudden something will quicken in my spirit and the Word will just speak to me and I will see those scriptures it seems like for the first time.

Yes, I didn't GET the part about Satan asking for Peter, until after I had posted and re-read the scriptures. So, I wonder if Satan wanted Peter instead of Judas? Would have changed EVERYTHING wouldn't it?
Did Satan know the scriptures? Surely he did!!

I realized that, after talking to my husband and BIL. But, I still wonder why Satan wanted Peter.
