Is it warrantied? Your antifreeze shouldn't need replacing anyway unless you get a leak, correct?

No!!!

Big bad mojo to never change antifreeze.

I flush the antifreeze from all vehicles every year, the maximum is every four years. In competition all the time. Antifreeze 50/50 is super corrosive, and will destroy all in its path. Cooling system failure is because of our antifreeze lack of maintenance. Another must be changed or die is the fuel filter. Also never ever ever ever ever use cheap oil filters. Always check the battery, make sure any water replacement is distilled water. No maintenance battery is a myth IF it still has caps. Anything that opens and you can see the liquid means you need to maintain that level.

Your oil change guy (if it isn't a mechanic shop) but one of the Speedy Lube places. Has not a clue. Sadly even some shops. But have no problem spinning a Fram or Purolator filter onto your vehicle. Radiator fluid change is only performed per request. Gone are the days where a mechanic would test your radiator fluid, or stick a hydrometer into your battery to test the cells. 300,000 miles on a car? Not us, we buy cars like we buy toilet paper. The cars of today are awesome, wonderful machines. Everything from lawnmowers to big rigs, beautiful. The sad thing is that no one takes care of them in the hope that they would be handed down to the next generation.

Thank you for the tip, I will request the fluid change. We keep our vehicles until they drop, my husband is driving a 2003 Honda Element that we have had zero problems with, I am driving a 2016 Honda Fit that I plan to keep forever and ever.
