I remember having a Helen Reddy, an Olivia Newton John, of course Carole King, an Imperials, and one other. I can the artist's face, but can't remember his name right now.

Geesh! I really AM getting old
I remember my friend who belonged to a monthly record club, got the "Tapestry" album in one day and we sat and listened to it for hours! "I Feel the Earth Move" and "You've Got a Friend" were definitely the best.

Sis. Sherri, my friend and I did the same thing....That was one of those albums that we felt would be "a classic" and it is. I still remember that picture of Carole King sittting by the window with her cat. lol

I just take the old music and put the good ones, without the sex and drugs stuff on new CD's and come a sunny day, I'm drivin' "topless" with the tunes cranked up!!!

Obviously, I like a lot of contemporary Christian music as well. I do NOT twang, nor do I listen to "twanging."
That's all fine and dandy for you Mow, but I got in trouble for trying that!

And the list of "One Hit Wonders" would be even longer!
Oh my goodness! You have a list of people I liked too, except for Dr. Hook (When You're in Love With a Beautiful Woman), Air Supply, and the Police.

I didn't care much for INXS, especially The Devil Inside. That song always gave me the creeps! I didn't care for U-2 or Wang Chung either.

I also liked Rick Astley (a one hit wonder) and Billy Ocean, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, and Cher.

Jefferson Starship is another favorite, and Fleetwood Mac.

And I could also go on and on....LOL!

This thread has been so much fun to read thru. Ahhh, the memories!!

I got in trouble so many times for listening to so many of these groups. If it wasn't Gospel, it was sin - so if I got caught, I got in huge mud. (not from my parents. They weren't in the church. I got in trouble all the time with the pastor and with a good friend in the church who was always 'watching out for my soul')

What about Tim Landry's favorite - Starland Vocal Band?

And I heard this today when we were in town.I used to love this song!

Freak Out by Chic and Sister Sledge. I remember dancing with some of the players from the San Antonio Spurs on that song!!

LOL!!!!

And I just remembered this song that I loved to death!!!

Harry Nilsson

Without You

No, I can't forget this evening
Or your face as you were leaving
But I guess that's just the way the story goes
You always smile but in your eyes your sorrow shows
Yes, it shows

No, I can't forget tomorrorow
When I think of all my sorrows
When I had you there but then I let you go
And now it's only fair that I should let you know
What you should know

I can't live if living is without you
I can't live, I can't give any more
Can't live if living is without you
I can't give, I can't give any more

No, I can't forget this evening
Or your face as you were leaving
But I guess that's just the way the story goes
You always smile but in your eyes your sorrow shows
Yes, it shows

Can't live if living is without you
I can't live, I can't give anymore
I can't live if living is without you
Can't live, I can't give anymore
(Living is without you)
