Republican tries to kill WVa homeschooling

https://www.hslda.org/hs/state/wv/201703100.asp

"West Virginia Senate Education Chair Kenneth Mann (R-Monroe, 10), has teamed up with Democratic senators Michael Romano and Ron Stollings to propose an alarming law that would effectively prohibit homeschooling and order CPS investigations if parents wanted to homeschool children who had accrued 10 absences without acceptable excuse."

Moloch's priests cannot afford to let any of your children get away.

Good news?
https://www.hslda.org/hs/state/wv/201703130.asp
"West Virginia Senate Education Chair Kenneth Mann, sponsor of Senate Bill 528, has said he is pulling the bill from active consideration. The proposed law would have effectively prohibited homeschooling and ordered CPS investigations for parents whose children had accrued 10 unexcused public school absences."

Re: Republican tries to kill WVa homeschooling

The article notes its twin bill in the House was sponsored by Steve Westphall, a Republican.

Anyone who thinks that because a politician is a Republican they aren't statist leeches needs to get out more and wake up.

Re: Republican tries to kill WVa homeschooling

I don't remember the details, but I remember growing up in a church school and attending state legislative sessions and rallies when the state tried closing down church and home schools back in the late 70s, early 80s.

For a couple months, we even secretly met in church member's homes because police were staking out our church, watching to make sure we weren't meeting there for school.

In 1982, there was a Pastor who was arrested in the pulpit (contempt of court) and his church doors were chained and padlocked because of their church school. We attended a large rally/protest outside the church during that time. When the church members came to cut the chain, deputies were ordered to shoot them. The Judge realized how bad that would be for him and the Sheriff's office and ordered them to remove the chains, but the Pastor spent almost a year in jail over the contempt violation.

That judge and sheriff should have been tarred and feathered and run out of town. Literally. Pastor should have a state monument put up in his honour.

Nowadays, they probably would just shoot the Christian "terrorist radical fascist anarchists" and blame it on internet "radicalization".

I know a number of parents who home schooled their kids. A couple of the kids are rather impressive. The rest were dumber than a box of rocks and couldn't pass the state aptitude tests.

That's not limited to home schooled kids. I know a lot of public school graduates who are dumber than a box of rocks as well.
