Let it be understood that Apostolic Friends Forum is an Apostolic Forum.
Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

I have dealt with some Reformed brethren who rebuked me for my description of the Godhead as I see it. They were some very intense guys to say the least.

Most Trinitarians I talk to believe the exact same thing, but instead of the word manifestation they use the word person to describe Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Many of them do not believe they are co-equal and co-eternal. They believe the Father is greater than the Son and that the Son only existed in eternity in the mind of God as the Logos, and not in the body. This is just my 2 cents though.

In fact, at his Resurgence conference this year Mark Driscoll said this of God: "Our God is not a force. He has a face. He is a person. His name is Jesus."

I think the average Trinitarian stands a chance. Most think along Oneness lines when they are rooted in the book... even if they fly a Trinitarian flag.

But the Trinitarian theologians and apologists... I'm not so sure.

Sometimes it boils down to semantics regarding how one interprets the word "person".
