Do you think they'll accept me??

I'd like to live with the Amish. I want to study them for a yr or so. Do you think they'll accept me? Or do they not like outsiders?

You may find a family or two who would be kind to you. But for any broad acceptance you would need to dress and live like them for a period, then make plans to become a member. This is not easy - 90% of the preaching and all the songs would be in German.

I still find the Old Order lifestyle appealing but mostly because of the deep family values and absence of divorce etc.

Right,

I would dress and live like them. I would tell them that I am considering becoming a member.
