Fred

Fred Thompson for me.

I like Ron Paul's ideas better but Thompson is fully electable. He is a true conservative. Which, by the way, is the reason why he is getting virtually no press coverage. Huckabee and Romney are getting the coverage because the leftists know that either candidate can be used to de-construct the conservative coalition.

Huckabee is a Democrat's dream come true: They can rip him to shreds, use him to divide the conservative vote, or just let him win and watch him govern like the Socialist-in-Republican-clothing that he is.

Romney has more of an aura of success, but the religious right are rightfully wary of his views on social policy, as has been more than amply shown by a previous post. Barack Obama's success in very white Iowa shows that the electorate is moving beyond old prejudices, so the elite media hopes of pitting Mitt against "true" Christianity isn't likely to be very fruitful. They plan to try it anyway, which is why he gets somewhat more favorable press. He and Guiliani will both play well on the East coast but will lose traction in the heartland. He's too much of a Yankee.

Thompson is the real deal. A true limited government conservative. An intellectual. A communicator with presence. America will have to forgive him for the big D and for choosing a hot young thing for Mrs. Thompson, scene II. But this is still more respectable behavior than either of the Clinton's "legacy."

Ron Paul is too idealistic to carry certain key states. The things about him that play well to independents alienate him to key conservative demographics.

The mainstream media seems to be in Hillary's hip pocket. When for the first time in American history an African-American won a presidential primary, the story was all about Huckabee's surprise win. They don't want us to dwell on the glaring hole in Hillary's shield of inevitability, so all of a sudden they take a great interest in Baptist preachers. Fun stuff, huh?

We've only had one primary, and it's hardly a bell-weather. Don't get hopeful or concerned any sooner than super-Tuesday.

OK, having thought thru the list, first of all, being Godly has not helped past presidents be good presidents.

That boarderline idiot Jimmy Carter was one of the most Moral and most Christian Presidents we have ever had. He was also completely incompetant.

I think the following are qualified.

Rudy
Mitt
Huck
McCain
Bill Richardson (D)

The rest arent qua

Obama is in the United Church of Christ denomination, not the Church of God.

As far as I understand the United Church of Christ does not preach & teach the gifts, or baptism in Jesus name.

You really believe God will appoint the next president of the USA?
What is he is for abortion? God just looks beyond that?

Of course that means it doesn't matter what you vote, correct so why vote?

Christianity has always acknowledged that God appoints secular authority. The scriptures are clear on this issue. Nothing new here.

Yes, no reason to vote.

If you believe that you are funny. By your logic Jesus set up our system for you to vote but then you don't vote because Jesus will vote for you.

Then why not get fat- don't go to the doctor, and don't worry about anything to do with your health- the Lord knows and appoints your day to die, right?

The Lord gave us this world and this life to live.
