The Third Industrial Revolution: A Radical New Sha

Quote:
The global economy is in crisis. The exponential exhaustion of natural resources, declining productivity, slow growth, rising unemployment, and steep inequality, forces us to rethink our economic models. Where do we go from here? In this feature-length documentary, social and economic theorist Jeremy Rifkin lays out a road map to usher in a new economic system.

A Third Industrial Revolution is unfolding with the convergence of three pivotal technologies: an ultra-fast 5G communication internet, a renewable energy internet, and a driverless mobility internet, all connected to the Internet of Things embedded across society and the environment.

This 21st century smart digital infrastructure is giving rise to a radical new sharing economy that is transforming the way we manage, power and move economic life. But with climate change now ravaging the planet, it needs to happen fast. Change of this magnitude requires political will and a profound ideological shift.

Eschatology for atheists.

Where man is his own savior, and solver of any problem no matter what size.

Thank you for the video Sister.

Re: The Third Industrial Revolution: A Radical New

I understand your point, but there is a lot of information in the video about how our technology, jobs, and economy is going to change that makes watching the video interesting.

Also, watching this video gives a good deal of insight into how millennials are thinking about these subjects, and how our lives might be impacted.

As you know I live in the most liberal county in the United States.
So, the information in the video is part of the mindset of the liberals who live here. I would like to know what was your take away from this video? Will these things even happen? Will it happen for the nation as a whole? What other direction may this go into? Nice to see you posting again, hope all is well with you, and your family in Jesus name.

Re: The Third Industrial Revolution: A Radical New

Recap of video:

Our economy depends on energy, communication, and transportation. Changes in sources of energy and technology impact our economy, welfare and environment.
  • the 1st industrial Revolution happened in the UK with Coal and Steam with Steam driven transportation and printing.
  • The 2nd happened in the US with oil and automobiles.
  • The 3rd is happening now with the internet of things, open source communication, software, music. Driver-less transportation, automated checkout, ect.

The industrial revolutions have brought both advances and devastation to our lives and environment.

Since the 2008 market crash, many have been rethinking the American dream of life in the suburbs with two cars and a mortgage that requires two paychecks. Out gvt has bailed out wall street and destroyed our health care system. There are lots of jobs out there but many are low wage, no benefits contract employment.

How can we use the 3rd industrial revolution to improve peoples lives? The internet of things will automate many jobs with driver-less vehicles, automated checkout, robotics, ect. What can we do to prepare for the future? how can we have cleaner renewable energy, clean water and environment ect?

*The internet can be used to cut out the middle man, improve the supply chain, find locally produced resources.

*Businesses and households can run on solar energy, coupled with recycled building materials, green buildings, selling energy back to the grid.

*People can prepare for the future by training for technical jobs, jobs in health care, education, service jobs, and working for non profits.

What are the challenges of the internet of things:

*keeping power in the hands of the people instead of Corporations.

*breaking up monopolies like Amazon, Google, Comcast.

Re: The Third Industrial Revolution: A Radical New

The future is in AI, 3D printing, nanotechnology, and genetic engineering. When those four technologies converge and merge (already in the embryonic stages), THEN you will see a "Third Industrial Revolution".

5G, renewable energy, driverless cars, and climate change are busy work for the Four Legs, devised by the All Animals Are Equal (But Some Are More Equal) crowd to funnel the masses of Eloi into the slaughter bins (renewable energy right there).

Unless the lights go out.
