Prayer Request

Will you please pray for my brother? His house was struck by lightning last week while he was at the doctor's. It is a total loss. Now, a few days later, he has been told that he has a tumor in his colon which is malignant. He will be having surgery on Tues. He and his family needs everyone's prayers for a miracle healing and strength. Thank you so much.

Re: Prayer Request

My goodness, that is a terrible thing to come upon one for sure! Does he know the Lord? I will pray for him, that the Lord will help him through this difficult time!

Re: Prayer Request

Melba, I will be praying for your brother. What a stressful time for him to be dealing with both a medical crisis and the loss of his home.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
