Off-duty FBI agents negligent discharge
So, an off-duty FBI agent (probably drunk) was dancing at a bar in Denver, and when he does a back flip his gun slips out from his holster. As he goes to pick it up, the video clearly shows the firearm discharging, and apparently it hit another guy in the leg.
So, does the FBI agent stop and make sure no one was injured? Nope. He puts his gun back in his holster, throws his hands up in the air in a "my bad" pose, then walks away.
This guys career is toast.

But don't forget, only law enforcement should have guns, because only law enforcement is responsible enough to handle them.

Re: Off-duty FBI agents negligent discharge
I saw the video over the weekend. First, he must have been loose carrying the gun in his waistband, or he has a holster which doesn't fit his gun. If he is loose carrying, why in the world would the soon-to-be former agent attempt a back flip?
And then to just pick it up and walk away as Jito described, "My bad"?!?
I've read that this dude could be charged with a class 5 felony. Bye career, bye legally carrying a gun.

Re: Off-duty FBI agents negligent discharge
My favorite is still this video of the DEA agent shooting himself in the foot while talking about gun safety in a class.
Immediately after claiming he was the only one in the room "professional enough" to carry the gun ... BOOM!

Re: Off-duty FBI agents negligent discharge
I am so glad no one was injured. This could have been a really sad situation.

Re: Off-duty FBI agents negligent discharge
My takeaway - Who does backflips when they are dancing unless they have been drinking or belong to a circus? What an idiot.

I feel bad for the guy, but it is hilarious.
He sued the DEA over the video:
"Paige claimed in his lawsuit that the DEA's release of the video, taken by a parent attending the demonstration, invaded his privacy and ended his ability to work undercover or give motivational speeches. Paige, a former professional football player who worked at the DEA since 1990, said the release has also resulted in humiliating comments toward him and his family not only on television but at grocery stores and restaurants."

He thinks he was shot with his own gun, but it was actually irony that shot him. Irony always stings more than the bullet, especially when it's recorded for posterity.

What would he have done if it was the parent who released it, instead of the DEA? He's just looking for a payout. The mistake was his, he should just own it. If he had properly cleared his weapon, then there never would have been an AD.
He never removed the magazine, which made it possible for another bullet to get loaded when he dropped the slide back into place. Not to mention that his finger should have been nowhere near the trigger. He messed up, there's just no other way to put it.

Aww, did the poor baby get his feewings hurt? He should just be grateful that he only shot himself, and not one of the kids. If that had happened, humiliation would the least of his concerns.
Don't get me wrong, I have some empathy for what he's going through, but not for how he's handling it.
