The Spotlight of Appreciation
Proverbs 25:11 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.
There seems to be a lot of negativity and bad news in the air everywhere and a "word fitly spoken" would be in order. For those who are interested, I want to initiate a thread that spotlights someone you believe is worthy of honor and encouragement for their contributions to others and the Kingdom of God. Use photos if possible.
In the second year after I married my lovely wife I fell in love with another lady. It was a stranger that introduced us but the love affair has now lasted for 40 years. Wait .... wait .... give me a minute! The stranger was a delivery room nurse and the lady is my daughter. From the moment she could understand anything her heart was turned toward God. At thirteen she was the church pianist. Her teen years were not tumultuous but sweetly obedient.
Never ever was she a problem but always an example and asset to the Kingdom of God. At thirteen she had already put a lasso on her future husband. [ It took him 10 more years to see it! ] As class Valedictorian she received a SFC scholarship for college. She's an excellent songwriter-singer, pastor's wife non-pareil, with an IQ equal of the entire President's Cabinet.
[ Hey! I'm her Dad so give me a little room here. ] She is entirely too open, too honest, and too caring, and for that she suffers many hurts, but I wouldn't have her any other way. She's a great wife, mother, and daughter and we of her family have been made more than millionaires by her life. Her best years are yet to come for she has been prepared for such a time as this.
I'm sure I embarassed her with my boasting but Dad's with daughters must be excused by reason of insanity. We're all a little crazy about our girls!
Proverbs 31:29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
