People who forgot they live in Florida.
It's things like this that get me egg frying mad. Baby alligator is just doing what they do, and puppy is doing what he is going to do. Human needs to use his brains and keep the both of them apart.

Re: People who forgot they live in Florida.
Never feed the alligators because they will become a greater issue when they grow to 22 feet or more. Then instead of snatching the puppy, they grab you. Also the guy was lucky there wasn’t a bull gator wandering near by. While he was trying to free the dog, the bull would of clamped down on a leg or arm and dragged him down. Florida, home of super big reptiles.

I understand why he did what he did. I probably would have done the same thing... maybe...
However, he was extremely blessed to have not been attacked by another gator. I never even thought about that!

Bull alligator are usually not far behind. Having a 17 to 24 foot alligator slam a toothed vice down on your leg, can stop any rescue attempt. Horrific issues are best stopped before they ever happen. Small animals and children MUST be kept away from the edge of canals and lakes. Unless accompanied by adults ( plural ) who are preferably armed.

I walk Siegfried in our water management park which consists of canals and ponds surrounded by wooded trails. Once we stopped to sit near a pond and I felt impressed to move "now." Looked up and saw a gator swimming towards us, now we never stop moving.

Just don’t let your dog be off the leash. The gator you see, isn’t the one you need to worry about. Also they are bullwhip fast.

He is always off leash, he was at waters edge, he was the target. Luckily he listened when I called him.
