A Pastor Takes a Stand Against Donald Trump:

I found this rather interesting. Anyone else feel the man has a point?

It’s Time We Stopped Calling Donald Trump a Christian

Re: A Pastor Takes a Stand Against Donald Trump:

Of course he has a point.
Only a small point though.

Btw Clinton would not have been a better choice.

But a lot of the following does have nothing to do with "fruits":

What is the fruit of eliminating healthcare for tens of millions of poor people?
What is the fruit of banning refugees and leaving them stranded at airports?
What is the fruit of walling of Mexico and demanding they pay for the gesture?
What is the fruit of driving an oil pipeline through sacred Native American land?
What is the fruit of filling your Cabinet with billionaires?
What is the fruit of demonizing and banning Muslims?
What is the fruit of appointing a white supremacist to the highest level of government?

Re: A Pastor Takes a Stand Against Donald Trump:

Yeah.....No.

Halfway through he's suggesting that those who were against Obama were racists and that Trump appointed a racist to the highest position in the land and on and on and on the crazy liberal talking points drone on.

Yes I understand the hypocrisy of Fundys "Finding Grace" when it's "Their Guy"

I've never been under and illusion that Trump was some kind of paragon of Christian virtue and values.

As far as building a pipeline through "sacred land" goes after doing some digging it would seem that the tribe accepted the offer and was all for it at first. In fact they were going to build a refiner on the same "sacred land" what happened is that they got greedy and demanded more money and the oil company said,"Well heck with y'all." and decided to bypass the land. It's not about sacred land it's about money.

I'm not going through each point and commenting and refuting them.

I've read enough to know this guy isn't coming from a balanced viewpoint and has a agenda and is just parroting talking points that have been refuted.

Not into intellectually lazy arguments from people that aren't thinking for themselves.

The points he's making are all his personal opinions.
He hates Trump, that's clear.

Many people against Obama were racist but most were not racist, just feeding off of the conspiratorial garbage and opinions that their political talking heads were spewing.

and many voted for him simply because they identified with his race . . . regardless of how his politics conflicted with their values

This is a point that is seldom brought up but yes, there were plenty Independents and other people who would usually not be interested in voting that took an interest in helping to elect Obama. Hard to gauge how many or proportions etc with blacks in America more likely to vote Democrat if and when they actually vote, but yes, I am sure there were blacks who voted for Obama just because he is black.

And there were plenty of Republicans, black and white, that voted for Obama that would not have voted for a Democrat usually.

Remember when before he was elected and in the immediate aftermath, a lot of people continued to compare Obama to Reagan?

I don't recall him being likened to Reagan, but he was a charismatic and appealing figure. I just disagreed with Obama on some very strongly held values, the same values that swayed me to vote for Trump even though I didn't find him charismatic or appealing in the least.

Our God reigns, He sets up and takes down Kings and Kingdoms and is ultimately in control. Maybe Trump will ensure religious liberty that will give the Church of the living God a window for revival and outpouring of the Spirit.
