Thank you for the clarification, I was wondering if you thought that I didn't think outside the box. I cannot judge her, but am truly thankful that she is in the hands of a just God. I know a lot of people who think they know, but in reality, they don't. I had this conversation with my wife after hearing a preacher say that she is in hell, I was disappointed after hearing him say this; however, none of us really knows. I will say that I was blessed by her songs, and that I sing some of them songs in church.

I would be very, very leary of judging. Very sad.

Haven't people mentioned that she came to their church to sing way back when? I took that to mean she had an apostolic background. Either way, the contribution she made to Pentecost is undeniable.

Which, of course, means squat (I'm serious!) but I imagine if they were UPC she was baptised and most likely filled with the Holy Ghost at some point in her life.
I'm so glad God hasn't given the final judgement of souls, to men... I'd be heading to the Lake of Fire for certain, if that were the case!
As far as I can tell, only God can judge the quick and the dead.. and we are only called to preach to the living.
I pray God will comfort Dottie's family and friends. I'm sure she's left a huge hole in their hearts.
Her music will live on in this life for years to come.

Dottie and Buck are from the western Kentucky area. Churches there that would be called "Apostolic" or "Pentecostal" or "Holiness" are pretty varied and some have some "different" doctrines. Steve Epley could give you more information about both of them and their background. In the book, "The Legacy of Buck and Dottie Rambo" copyright 1992, Buck states that he joined the UPC at the invitation of Nathan Urshan so they could sing on Harvestime. Dottie did not join because they felt it was fine to have just one of them in the organization. They were later condemned by some UPC preachers because they sang on tv. They considered Bro. Jimmy Russel to be their pastor and he was a good Apostolic man of God (although some might not think so because he was a one-stepper). Jimmy Russel became a UPC preacher at some time.

Dottie preached in Finley, TN at the UPC church years ago when the late Bro. Meggs pastored there. There were occasions when there were tent revivals in the area as well and Dottie, Buck, Reba were there (and mosquitos!). Some of these visits would have been after Shirley sang with them but before Reba was actually singing with her parents. I can't remember the name of the lady that sang with them at that time. The Rambos were friends with some of my close family friends and church members and we on several occasions were together at the family's home for meals and fellowship when the Rambos were there. At the time just good old common down to earth folk in the ministry of the Lord's work.
I'm not her Judge, or anyone else's. She was an awesome writer of lyrics. The harmonies of their trio were some of the best. I have sung many of her songs for years.
