There have been so many martyrs and tragic deaths in the history of mankind. If someone can sort out the the Cain/Abel affair and why God "allowed" that to happen I think we'll be on the road toward an answer.

Unfortunately, despite our understanding and a large amount of speculation related to motive, the activity or apparent inactivity of God in that first murder is still an open question. Does He allow all free will decisions made by mortals to go to fruition? I don't think so. So where does He draw the line?

All I know is that a line is drawn somewhere out there in the future - a line drawn in time; and then the judgment.

Re: Baptist church shooting

Why did He allow 9/11 ?

Why did He allow Hitler to kill Jehovah's Witnesses, Jews and Gypsies during WWII ?

Why did He allow them to beat out all of the elderly saint Apollonia's teeth in the year 258 ?

Why did He allow those precious little Amish girls to get slaughtered in their school house last year ?

Why did He allow the Tsunami to take so many lives in 2004 ?

God knows and will avenge.

God isn't a dictator.

Man has a free will.

Free will to serve Him. Free will to do evil. You can't have one without the other.
