Re: To the Jew first...

I'm not sure if the people who live in other areas realize, but some of us very rarely see Jewish people... about the only time I see them is when I am traveling on business to the North East, like New York and New Jersey... I do realize that some of them do not "look the part" in the way they dress, so I may know Jewish people without realizing it.

Where I live, I would say that even during the holidays where they wear the skull caps, I could look around all day and never see one. The first time I ever met a Jewish person, I was 19 years old and had just joined the Navy and I was wondering why this one guy was "out of uniform" (because he was wearing a Yamika -sorry don't know how to spell that)

Growing up, we were always hearing bible stories about the Jews, but had no practical knowledge of them as a people living today, they were just people in the Bible. Even when Israel would somehow come up in conversation, I always assumed it was biblical Israel and not any current country. So many geographic names have changed since Biblical times it was not until I was in my mid-20's that I started to match up places in the Bible with places that exist today.

I only bring this up to give a different perspective since some people seem to believe that everyone interacts with Jewish people on a regular, daily basis.

Re: To the Jew first...

An interestiong sidenote, the jews of today are Pharisaic, and not Sadducee. The Sadducees required the temple rites, and when the temple was destroyed in AD70, the Sadducees soon ceased to exist. So the Jews we see today, that is the Orthodox, are Pharisaical just as in Jesus' day.

Re: To the Jew first...

Hello,
I'm no scholar, just an old prayer person who prays continual peace be in Israel. I also pray mister Netanyahu be born again in Spirit and in Truth to help the nation see reality and be eyes wide open when the Lord Parts the sky. I have a deceased friend of Jerusalem who went there as a missionary for the UPCI many years ago. Sister Lucille Farmer, her autobiography is call "A willing heart". She ran a small bookstore in the city and witnessed for a few years planting many seeds. She was a magnificent prayer warrior so I'm sure she has babies there. I'm just really curious if anyone knows a group or church's there to pray for by name so I can permeate my own blindness in these matters and pray more effectively. I know lot's of her relatives in the UPCI, but we been separated by life situations for a long time. Thanks for any leads or direction you can share.

I looked for an answer and found an interactive map which shows some of the places there are missionaries
