Many of the greatest house church leaders (those called to small group pastoring) have had false starts and experienced setbacks, failures, and mistakes that have made them the excellent leaders that they are. An Olympic figure skater just doesn't choose to be of Olympic quality. It takes years of practice and thousands of falls, bumps, scrapes, and bruises. How many Olympic skaters would have qualified if they gave up groken hearted after the first season of falls?

If it's what God calls one to do... that is what they must do. Here's a song that greatly encourages me at times...

Re: House Church - How It's Done.

Also, house churches do much better when networked. Prior to beginning any house church endevour, network with a local church who shares your vision or is willing to help you. Their facilities will prove beneficial in that you can have larger gatherings once a week, month, or quarter. A house church needs to be "connected" to the outside, else it can become stagnant, turn on itself, and implode.

Thank you! Should I ever be given another chance, I'll graciously accept. I've been in ministry for 18 years. I won't EVER give up.

Hi Shag, Your post asks if anyone knew the guy from ChristianHomeChurch.com or read his book. I can say "yes" to both. I am that guy - Patrick Sipperly (aka "Hey You!" to those who don't know me). Thank you for the positive remarks about the pdf. Bible Studies. They are very similar to what I grew up on. Fascinating how the simplicity of the Word changes lives; my word doesn't. More scripture - less commentary.

I was looking over the stats and referring site info on my ChristianHomeChurch.com website and noticed several recent referrals from this apostolic website, so I was curious about it. When I found your post here, I thought I'd introduce myself. Please let me know if can answer any other questions. Otherwise, may the Lord continue to lead us on this narrow way that leads to life!
