He told us he was terminal. He told us he was leaving soon. Now he's gone and I am shocked too.

Re: AFF Member Donald "Lafon" Evans has passed awa

Does anyone remember the post he made earlier this year in which he gave an amazing testimony of what it means to literally be facing death?

If it can be found, let's repost it here as a reminder of how courageous and faithful to the end he really was.

Sad to hear about this. He always stuck to his guns but always was a gentleman.

Maybe someone can let his Pastor or family know we will be missing him...

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: AFF Member Donald "Lafon" Evans has passed awa

It is interesting that his obituary says he died 9/25 and that is the date it shows he last visited AFF. I hope the fellowship and discussion he found here was a blessing and comfort to him. I must confess I did not realize he was ill so this was a surprise to me. I see where others say he posted about his condition but I did not see those posts.
