Re: Puking at the altar. Where did this come from?
Corey Taylor, the lead singer of the band Slipknot, has spoken in times past about vomiting inside of his mask (he wears a mask when he sings in concert). Having listened to that band pre-conversion, I can attest to how much he screams and wails as part of his performance. You can even hear him vomiting on a particular track on their first major release.
What's the point?
Besides the band all admitting to being devout Satanists, Corey Taylor specifically does what a lot of "prayer warrior intercessors" do. They get themselves so worked up into a spiritual agony, praying/screaming at the top of their lungs, until the voice cracks, the throat burns, the lungs give out, the stomach constricts, muscles ache, and the vomit flows.
Notwithstanding, there are true cases of demonic deliverances where someone vomits, or produces some other form of physical manifestation. All are meant to humiliate and discourage the person being delivered.
So, screaming, falling, twitching, vomiting, howling, and etc. are indications that a devil is in control, suffering in the presence of a Holy God, but still malicious enough to hurt the person as Christ expels the demon from the soul.
Look at the Gospels. In many of the specific cases, the demon "tore" or threw in the fire to burn, or drown the victim, and led them through graveyards howling, and etc. It's all meant to harm and dehumanize the person. Vomiting on one's self as a demon is exorcized is not much different. Just a different form.

Re: Puking at the altar. Where did this come from?
Many times, people being delivered from deep demonic possession, don't even realize that they are manifesting, vomiting, when they do it. Not all the time but many times.
Others do.

Re: Puking at the altar. Where did this come from?
I once attended a UPC church where the pastor seemed to encourage vomiting. It wasn't uncommon for him or someone else to grab a trashcan and people encouraging the 'prayee' to 'bring it out'!!
It was disgusting. I never did stick around to see what was 'coming out'.

Do you not believe in deliverance from demonic possession Jerry? Or is it that preterism teaches it is all done?

Re: Puking at the altar. Where did this come from?
19 He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me. 20 And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. 21 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. 22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us. 23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. 24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. 25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. 26 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead

This is about "foaming" at the mouth.
Not puking.
But I guess some would say it's puking.
Any scripture about puking???
Let's assume people are puking at the altar….are these people Holy Ghost filled Christians?
I doubt it. If they are demon possessed they can't be Christians.

I believe that many people are oppressed / possessed, the line is very slim and probably only God Himself knows where the line is.
The question to ask, for those who do not think it is a unclean spirit is...
If it is just emotions, exhuberant behaviour or whatever, then why is it when you calmly say "In Jesus Name come out of that person" that the person who was just sitting calmly before you begins to puke? Their eyes might roll back in their head, they begin to shake, and then they begin to puke?
What is that? Emotions? Don't think so! Now we can ask wether there is any Biblical proofs of this behaviour being linked to Spirits, and we can try to deny it all we want to, but the reality of the matter is.... it happens.
Do you realize that before the Gospels that there was, to my knowledge, no Old Testament proof of deliverance from demonic possession? It appears that it was a new thing when Jesus came on the scene.
