I understand that, but you are using the Pentecostal word for saint, which means church member. While Tightmister is talking about the scriptural meaning of saints as it applies to every believer. A calling is according to a gift one has. No one should be made to feel that they need to do the work of an Evangelist. I have see some bad situations from misapplication of that verse to brothers and sisters, and mostly ill equipped young people. So, not everyone is a teacher, an apostle, and most certainly not a prophet.

Do you believe churches should not have a single pastor? I’m not talking about Elder’s, should there be 2 or 3 pastors to a church?

Brother Nicodemus,
In your opinion, what is the difference in an elder and a pastor?

Brother Nicodemus,

The New Coksiw Living translation, 3 Cor 3:45. LOL! EB I made that up. It does come across like an allusion, doesn’t it?

Those who were sent to the seven churches in Asia Minor to give those church families warnings. A pastor is a shepherd who teaches the flock. In Ephesians 4:11-16 the pastors are the teachers. There isn't a five fold ministry but a four fold. The calling is without repentance, because we hope to do it with joy and not with grief. You don't see anywhere in the Bible where a church family didn't have a single pastor? Well you have no way of showing that collegial eldership was always present. The angels who were sent to these churches in Asia Minor, weren't accompanied by a second angel. Bible clearly states that the testimony to put any man to death must be accompanied by two or three witnesses. Jesus speaks of the Father backing Him up as His witness. The angel comments to John when he tells John not to bow to him. That they had the spirit of prophecy which is Jesus' testimony. I believe in eldership, but I also believe that a church can be led by a real pastor teacher. If that is the situation before other men can be sent to help with the work.

EB,
In regards to the bold statement above, what do you base your belief that this is an angel on?
I don’t see where John ever refers to this being as an angel.

Tithesmeister....I once heard Jerry Jones preaching about 20 years ago, and he sarcastically called tithes a "salvation tax". Do you think he has stopped preaching tithing?

I’m not sure who he is. His name sounds familiar.

Revelation 22:8
And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
