HELP-Look What The Lord Has Done

Hello,

I am trying to learn to play the piano, I cannot get any help in person, so maybe someone can help me here. Since I don't have the benifit of someone actually helping me in real life all I have is a keyboard, and a piece of paper that shows the chords. Besides that I am on my own. So I cant read music, I have to learn songs by memory. I have been working on amazing grace and Ode to Joy, because they are on my keyboard, but I would like to practice on something more familiar with me. A song that came to mind was "Look What the Lord Has Done" It seems pretty simple, but when I look at the chords on line, it had a G and three lines, and then a C7 and the chorus. I know these are chords, but I don't understand how to play 3 lines of a song with just one chord. So I am wondering if anyone will give me what I need to hit note by note so I can practice.

Re: HELP-Look What The Lord Has Done

I play by ear and read very little music and I'm sure there are folks here much more knowledgeable. But in simple terms what I understand a 7th to be is simply adding the 7th note from your base. So a C7 would be a C with a B added. A G7 would be a G with F added.... If you notice, it's actually the note just before your base.

Re: HELP-Look What The Lord Has Done

The 3 lines are probably refering to the guitar part. for instance,

C / / / | G7 / / /

would refer to 4 strums on each chord....one beat for the name of the chord and one for each additional strum. They're just chords charts thoogh so you could easily use them for piano aswell.

also

G7,C7 are dominant chords so flat the 7 on those.
