I have children still under my roof. 3 of which are teens.
I thought about having them read some of these books, to aid in defense of their biblical based faith, in case they would need to defend themselves when ask questions like, why do you believe in this book called the holy Bible, and how is it any different than any other book. Why do you follow this one called Jesus… how do you know he even lived let alone resurrected? As a couple of examples…
Here are a few I have found:
1 The case for Christ (Lee Strobel)
2 Evidence that demands a verdict
3 More than a carpenter(McDowell)
4 Mere Christianity (CS LEWIS)
5 Reasonable Faith: Christian Truth and Apologetics
6 The Reason for God: belief in an age of skepticism)
We are studying the Bible as well, right now going through Acts, currently in
Acts 7….but I want to put some armor on these guys in the way of defending their faith when they get out and inner tangle more with this wicked world, through entering adulthood.
Has anybody read any of these books?
Other books?
Any thoughts or ideas on the subject?
I do like to challenge them….try to sort of set them up to fail a little w some hard questions, within reason so not too hard. I must help them prepare, just in case…
The enemy does have an agenda
(I realize being full of the Holy Ghost is top priority, but I think you understand what I’m getting at)
