I know of one of our churches that opened up for Katrina and the ungrateful folks did all kinds of damage to the church. The Red Cross told them "they" (the RC) could not do anything about it. The church had to obsorb the cost to fix their church back up.

We can only hope the increase for 2009 Ministers Dues will not include the loss of all the subscriptions to the Herald too!

(the last increase of $48 per year was to subsidize the printing of magazines never read)

Do your dues go toward a ministerial retirement fund so elderly ministers and their widows can be cared for in their waning years?

Paw Paw was district sup. of Tx for 20 yrs...no retirement no pension no fund of any kind for him. Good thing he was wise with his money...

Not at all. They purchase life insurance and pay subscriptions of periodicals.
