What Would You Do?

What would you do if a touchy situation arose around you? Taking it hypothetically, for now at least.

Let's say an Apostolic father has a daughter that has never been in church and now lives her life as an "out and proud" lesbian. This daughter was invited to a Father's Day celebration, but doesn't feel she should come without her significant other.

What would you do?

POSSIBLE SCENARIOS
1) Stand on your principles and don't let them come. The gathering is being held at the father's home and he personally doesn't want to see his daughter with another woman. Although he clearly doesn't agree with the sin that is in her life, the issue seems to go deeper. It's the mere fact that, as a father, he just cannot seem to come with a conclusion to seeing his daughter with another woman. In fact, this father has compromised on prior occasions, such as his mother's 87th birthday last year when both his daughter and her significant other were present.

2) Sin is sin. This father's son and his girlfriend that live together will also been attending. They are not married and currently no plans to do so, either. In one view, both the unmarried heterosexuals and the out homosexuals are both living in sin according to the Word, and if one is outlawed, both should be. On the flip-side, another might reason that the Bible calls homosexuality an abomination, and therefore he differentiates them.

All sins are seen equally in the Lord's eyes.

What would you do?

Should the daughter and her significant other be given their blessing to come?

Should the son and his girlfriend also be asked to stay clear of this gathering?

Thoughts?

Alright, but I was asking opinions here specifically.

Re: What Would You Do?

I would allow the son and his girlfriend to come, even though they live together.

The daughter and her lesbian partner: no.

Down the road the son might be getting married, which would be nice.
Down the road the daughter might be getting married, which would be terrible.

For the son there might be a light at the tunnel.
Not so, for the daughter.

But I guess, this is just me personally yepping away about it.

That is a different way of looking at it, and one I personally did not think about.

Another solution that was presented to me was the representation these two "couples" would have in front of the children that would be in attendance. As kids, they do not know the difference in married and unmarried couples. Seeing the man and woman is "alright," but seeing the two women together is unacceptable, and will lead to confusion.

Pastors don't always have the answers either.
But yes, I would talk to him for sure.

Depends where they go to school.

If they are attending the public school system they are already messed up and it would have no effect on them.

If they attend a good Christian school it would confirm to them how messed up the world is.
