That’s a great scripture.

How many ever heard or read the interview with the designer that either designed the split in skirts or made them fashionable? According to the gentlemen, the reason for the split was to catch the eye of a man. It sends a message of, you see a little now, I can show you a lot more later! It was meant as fashion of seduction.

We can get caught up with terms, such as “Forked Garment” and because of that it throws people off. That gives them the excuse of, “mans law”. Yet, if the women/wife/daughter feels like she is modest, in yoga pants, splits in their skirt, short skirts, mens jeans, etc.. do what you feel!

Where did the saying, “pants in the family come from?”

Re: Women and the "Forked Garment"

For a woman to reveal her shape
(With the exception of to her husband)
in pants or with slits or tight skirts is immodest.
1 Timothy 2:9-10
King James Version
9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

That doesn't align with scripture. That isn't what the Bible says to do.

Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths."

I’m pretty sure it didn’t come from the Bible.

I’m pretty sure you’re correct.

It’s interesting though, to some, pants represents authority. That’s what I understand that phrase to be implying.

I wrote that with just a tad of sarcasm.

If were all following the Lord, and were all saved. Why are we so split (pun intended) on standards? One believer says TV is ok, another says, it’ll send you to hell. One Holy Ghost filled young lady says “short skirts are fine”, another one says “skirts a couple inches below the knee, only way to heaven!” You, and I could go on with this comparison, yet it’s worth noting, the believers here and aboard are torn when it comes to “standards”. I believe that’s why many, many believers call standards, standards of man, or the standards of the pastor, or the elders of the local church.

What do you believe, Bro. Flame?

"Standards" are a source of division of Apostolic Christians. But there is a specific "standard" that we all need to maintain. Some pastors hold that line straighter than others, but the Bible is clear on that.
