The Lord Called Them Home

Why is it that so many Christians blame God when someone dies (especially in tragic or untimely deaths) and says things like...
  • He needed them in heaven
  • The Lord called them home

Then on top of that where did the theology of people becoming angels in heaven come from????

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Well if ya think about it the lord will take you when he wants to cause he is the one in control so if it is your time it's just your time and he will take you...

Interesting point, but could you explain where you are coming from a little more?

while I realize that we all have a time to go the Bible tells us that "with long life" God will satisfy us, so if you take a position that God removes you early then the scripture is contradicting itself.

Mormons?

Hey doesn't the above look like another very popular flip chart?

Maybe they're interchangeable?

Re: The Lord Called Them Home

We just had a nieghbor pass away suddenly, thru very sad circumstances. She was just forty and had young children and a husband, ect... On the day of her funeral, there was light rain, and then a rainbow over the family's house. Sure enough, the neighbors (including my parents) took pictures and this was some sort of "sign." Needless to say, I was bothered by the sacrilage.

Will you please tell why you were bothered by this?

The Bible also asks the question, "Why die before your time?"

You can check yourself out earlier than what may have been the will of God fir your life. Often, our own actions play a part in our lives and in our deaths.

Re: The Lord Called Them Home

I believe we should preserve life, nevertheless, ultimately life AND death are in the hands of God.
