It is tough, when someone you know gets all excited about tapes, books, vids, and wants you to view them. But the upside is this, you do it to help them. They are excited about their findings. You just don't want to pop their balloon right away, but be able to listen to their information. I do mean listen!! Without giving feed back right away. One thing is it is different from forum engagement. Because forums are just posting back and forth. In person with have the person and must be able to listen closely (we have no outline to read) just what comes out of their mouth concerning the information we have been given by them. Also the information must be gone over thoroughly, enough to the point that we understand what has been given to us. In that way we can have an intelligent conversation about what w were given. We can only give our opinion after we have read, listened or watched what was given to us, and able to listen to the commentary of the brother/sister who gave us the information.
