Untouchable? none. we are all human. (I would not suggest anyone follow Peter and Pauls path of contention)

Bro, it was a joke. Wholehearted is much more conservitive than me. He got his views from his elders, I did the same..... thus... it goes without saying that if I remain less conservitive than him, I like my elders more!

Apology

I feel I owe an apology to Bro. Timmy (and to Lassie) and to the rest of the Forum.

I asked the brother for a clarification to something he posted last night. I posted two questions on this thread awhile ago that were inappropriate to ask on an open forum. I thought of this, and went back and deleted the questions. But, the brother answered them before I could delete them. I sent a PM to apologize and I do so now. I apologize for sticking my nose where it didn't belong, and for messing up a really good thread. Again, I apologize for my thoughtless action.

Think. THEN post. Someday I'll get it right.

Re: Do YOU really believe what you were taught?

I believe the Bible is God's Word, inspired and preserved. It is the foundation for every belief I hold dear, and those that my elders held dear.

Although I may disagree with some particulars of what I was taught, overall I was taught good, sound principles, and I still live by them, and will pass them on to my own children.

Either that or left it up to us to fix it ourselves. Times change. There may have been good reason for some laws, in some eras, and if the reasons go away, so should the laws.

IMO.
WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You want to make the Bible wrong for not believing as YOU believe?

That is a very unwise statement and direction.

Re: Do YOU really believe what you were taught?

I cannot for the life of me see how anyone can't see that the Word of God teaches separation and how to dress. I have read all the post and heard the argument, but it is as clear as it can possible be to me that God require us top dress holy, and live a separated life.

Re: Do YOU really believe what you were taught?

Just a question:
Whose standard is right?
If you ask 10 Apostolic preachers their standards you will get 10 different answers, so who is right?
Just curious

I don't think anyone disagrees with you on the concept. The question that begs to be answered is WHAT is separation? What is holy dress?

To you it will be one thing, to Peter and Paul would most likely be a different answer as their culture was most definitely different than ours. In fact, they would probably think you men as not modest.

Robes are no doubt more modest, but not convient.

In all honestly culture does change our perspectives on things.
