Disappointment with the Apostolic Friends Forum

CC1, This was a recent statement by you on another post. "I think my disappointment with the forum the last couple of years is well known."

Just interested, .... what is the main thing that you are disappointed about? What are others disappointed about with AFF? Are they things that can be corrected? CC1, have you seen any of your disappointments improving in recent days?

BT, I thought you were posting an "AFF is awful" post, and I was going to SCREAM.

Thank you for not letting me down.

Sure hope that others don't think I'm putting it down. Really hoping that CC1 could tell me that AFF is doing better in his opinion.

No, your post was clear. It was the title that threw me for a moment.

have there been any major changes that I haven't noticed in recent days? I'm not being critical. Just trying to figure out if there was something I missed

Re: Disappointment with the Apostolic Friends Foru

I am not going to rehash once again the evolution / history of this forum. Anybody interested can probably search my posts and find out my thoughts.

I think AFF is very worthwhile and sometimes can be very helpful and a blessing to folks.

I just enjoyed the greater diversity and type of interaction that was here some time ago. Things change though and AFF is no exception. There are still wonderful people here who bless me and cause me to think and be a better person.

They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

Absolutely! I have made some great friends on AFF and it's predecessors and you are one of them.

Thanks CC1 for your response. Certainly respect you for not wanting to rehash anything and honor you for that. But, may I draw 1 conclusion from the bolded part above. Do you feel that the forum is no longer a source of greater diversity and if so why? As you know I've not been on here for very long and was just interested in what I may have missed. Thanks for your input and all of the others who share their thoughts. I do miss some that were on here when I first joined, but are no longer posting.

I wish everyone here, and even those who have left, believed just like me.... and more than that I wish I could change some of the hardheaded ones who disagree with me, but, boy would AFF then surely be a boring place.

God bless all of the Admins and also all of the members of AFF. And by the way Renda I miss you as an Admin.

Just.......

Re: Disappointment with the Apostolic Friends Foru

Been Thunkin,

There is still diversity at AFF but not as great as it used to be. At one time there was a significant number of "ultra cons" and "cons" who participated. I am talking those who do not believe in short sleeves, video screen magnification, etc. There was a lot of lively discussion on many topics between ultra cons, cons, moderates, libs and ultra libs that was for the most part civil and respectful. Over time a liberal element became involved that did not care for civil discussion but instead preferred bombastic statements and ridicule. There was an exodus of most ultra conservatives and conservatives which left the forum less diverse and interesting in my opinion. Still a lot of great folks here though.
