Re: The born again experience

That was a 6 word explanation. Short debate/discussion, like I said.

this is not to minimize the need for repentance or water baptism, as they too are essential ingredients to the gospel.
That's why peter preached what he did. But the Samaritans were not yet born again, until the apostles from
Jerusalem came down and laid hands upon them.
2. don't really understand how much scrutiny is needed for such a simple salvation message. you must be born
again. that happens when you repent, are baptized in water in the name of Jesus, and He then baptizes you with
the Holy Ghost.
3. debate it all you want. at the end of the day, it's a simple gospel message that is immune to debate, because it
is the rightly divided word of God.
_________

1) I see you haven’t read the scripture. Seems as if 95% of “believers” are
only repeating what they hear! Come on: READ THE SCRIPTURE on Jn 3:3!

2) Yes, the gospel that saves is definitely easy. It is stated in Jn 3:5; and in
Mk 16:16; and Acts 2:38-39: at least its essence. Really, some folks are just
glancing over what them.

3) Beloved, I’m not the one that’s debating or asking for a debate. It just so
happens I read the scriptures and not affix my own interpretation on them.
But NO ONE can “…rightly divide the word of God…” by reading only some of
the scriptures while glancing over others!

Brother Villa
yeah well, since I don't read the scriptures, think i'll leave this with you and sean.

Beloved, if you will just read Jn 3:3, you will see (1) Nicodemus' declaration;
and (2) The Lord's response. Jesus liked Nicodemus' confession (declaration)
and assumed he had gotten it from the Father.

Jesus is telling Nicodemus that no one could see (understand, perceive, discern)
that Jesus was come from God, except God had given him that information! All
I'm saying is that the "born again" experience is just that: God giving us the eyes
to see and CHOOSE to understand God's revelation.

Now the "...born of the water and of the Spirit..." comes after we CHOOSE to
believe (godly repentance) and are given the power and ability to ENTER INTO
the kingdom of God.

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting....

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Beloved, many men have tried to teach without following content ant context.
It never works out good. That's the main reason why we see so many various
denominations. Each person has their own opinion, but forget that it is the Holy
Spirit who will "...guide you into all truth...".

Some man have a little truth; and some have more truth; but none of
us have ALL truth.

Re: The born again experience

All I did was post the passage and commented with very few words( above).

The context is there for you to observe.

Did John write the passage out of context?

OK, if you insist: I will teach you.

CONTENT; what has previously been written by the apostles and prophets.
We usually 'quote' the apostles and prophets;
we must be careful not to misquote them;

CONTEXT: what has already been confirmed by the apostles and prophets.
what must be established by two witnesses or three;
witnesses are to be found within the scriptures, which include:
apostles and prophets; verifiable witnesses in scripture; and/or intention;

DEBATE: previously agreed upon and established forum of discussion.
The primary concern in a debate is decorum. Paul called it "self-control".

DO YOU AGREE WITH THAT, OR NO?
