>>The Real Test of What You Believe<<

The real test of what you believe is what you allow your kids to do.

If you really believe that pants on women/girls are AN ABOMINATION, you will not allow your infant daughters to wear "bifurcated" clothes. You will not allow them to wear sleepers, shorts and the like.

Sound extreme? Well, do you believe it, or not?

If your really have a strong moral objection to men wearing shorts, why do you let your sons wear them? I don't care if they are 15, 10 or 2. If you have a moral objection to shorts, why in the world would you let your kid wear them, at any age?

If you really believe jewelry is wrong, under any circumstance, why do you let your kids play with "toy" jewelry?

The real test of what you believe is what you let your kids do.

I don't let my kids drink alcohol, but I don't think it is wrong for adults to drink alcohol.

It's like the church where a pastor preaches against playing organized sports, and attending ballgames, but he ordered MLB.com on his computer so his kid can watch every baseball game of the season.

I know people who don't allow those things. Newborn babies are put in long sleeves and long pants (boys), girls wear long-sleeved dresses and nightgowns. No toy jewelry. No pajamas for girls.

If you believe these things are inherantly evil, and you preach against adults participating, why for the love of all that's good and holy, would you allow your kids to participate?

I mean, sheesh, if these things are Heaven/Hell issues, don't you love your kids enough to say no?

Back when our church split we were so confused because all the ultra cons were really bigger "charismatics" than we ever were. The wanted others to follow the standards but not themselves.

Really sad. It brings a lot of strife into the body of Christ. Not sure if these guys are in the body though but their actions affect good sincere people.

If you preach it's wrong to wear sleeveless shirts and dresses, for goodness' sake, don't let your little girls wear 'em.

It's really not about the kids, it's about what the parents will allow when it's their precious little Johnny or Suzie.

It's one thing to rail against everbody else, its altogether different, however, when it's our little sweeties wanting to join little league, dance classes and the like.
