Tattoos

Maybe this has been hashed out before but not during my time here. So two basic questions:

1) Do you believe tattoos are ok?

2) Would you get one?

The bonus question would be do you have one (or more) and the super-bonus question would be, did you get it after you became a Follower of Christ?

Re: Tattoos

I don't think they are a sin, but I don't care for them at all. I simply think they look tacky.

I don't have a problem with tattoos.

My wife and I have considered getting one on our 20th anniversary. At this point I don't have one but I only have 2 1/2 years to make up my mind.

I would get it on my shoulder so that I can cover it up when necessary.

Don't have any. IMO they look trashy.

WOW!!! We planned on it for our 20th and never did it. We even pursued some designs. And it was going to be on the back of our shoulder! It's not out of the question, though. We still talk about it.

Re: Tattoos

Well it does say under the law not to mark your body if that is what you are really asking.

I personally don't care for them and maybe it has to do with my father telling me from a very young age to never get one. It's not a heaven or hell issue but in some areas (Not all) it might keep you from getting certain jobs. That's just how finicky some people are...

Re: Tattoos

My wife has one. She sort of regrets it because of some churches around here or other places we have considered living would not allow us in ministry with her having it. At least that is her thought. I have NO problem with them, not sinful, etc. I have considered getting one or a few. Not sure if I ever will, but it is not because I think that they are wrong at all. Time will tell.

Are tattoos by themselves a sin? No.

Are they somewhat tacky? Yes. They are faddish lately, but what when the fads change? lol

I'm sure someone will cite an example of Devil worshippers in some time period that put ink into their skins and therefore tattoos are evil.

I don't believe so. But personally, I just think they are ridiculous.
