Debating brings "Contrast". Without it, the numbing affect of Religion would be catastrophic. People that are not allowed to test life with contrast, cause their ideals to fall headlong into concepts that live in a LIE.
We do this with so many things in life, and don't even realize we are doing it. For instance, the Funeral. An open casket, verses, being cremated and put in an Urn. The people attending the Funeral at the open casket are more likely to cry, and mourn the death of the deceased. There is also closure, as seeing the body before it is buried can feel like a real goodbye.
At the Urn Funeral, usually pictures of the deceased replace the open casket. We don't see our loved one as dead, only photos that represent the living. The pain is eased, the tears are less, and some can feel as if they never had closure, especially if the death is sudden.
The lack of contrast in this area slowly brings about a false concept about dying, and pain is replaced with a fantasy.
If you think about, every facet of our lives needs contrast. The only real way to appreciate summer is to endure a winter. And with our life with God we must allow challenge and contrast to engage us, otherwise we will put God in an Urn, creating Fantasies that can never survive the Test of Truth.
I feel that we should hear anyone out. Let them speak and express themselves, even if we disagree. In the process, we may discover we were flat WRONG, and that we've embraced years of LIES because we were afraid to climb the mountain and see the difference.
Just my thoughts.

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
