Today's History Lesson
Today's history lesson. Please carefully note the wording of Virginia's ratification of the Constitution:
Quote:
WE the Delegates of THE PEOPLE of Virginia, duly elected in pursuance of a recommendation from the General Assembly, and now met in Convention, having fully and freely investigated and discussed the proceedings of the Federal Convention, and being prepared as well as the most mature deliberation hath enabled us, to decide thereon, DO in the name and in behalf of THE PEOPLE of Virginia, declare and make known that the powers granted under the Constitution, BEING DERIVED FROM THE PEOPLE of the United States MAY BE RESUMED BY THEM whensoever the same shall be perverted to their injury or oppression,.....We the said Delegates, in the name and in behalf of THE PEOPLE of Virginia, do by these presents assent to, and ratify the Constitution recommended on the seventeenth day of September, one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven, by the Foederal Convention for the Government of the United States; hereby announcing to all those whom it may concern, that the said Constitution is binding upon the said People, according to an authentic copy hereto annexed, in the words following:"
|
It is clear that Virginia's ratification contained a clarification that the people of the States were the source of any compliance to the Constitution and that the people of those states could recall the ratificationthat made the Constitution binding on their state.
Fast forward to 1861:
Quote:
"An Ordinance To repeal the ratification of the Constitution of the United States of America, by the State of Virginia, and to resume all the rights and powers granted under said Constitution.
THE PEOPLE of Virginia, in their ratification of the Constitution of the United States of America, adopted by THEM in Convention, on the twenty-fifth day of June in the year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred and eighty-eight, having declared that the powers granted under the said Constitution, were derived from THE PEOPLE of the United States, and might be resumed whensoever the same should be perverted to their injury and oppression; and the Federal Government having perverted said powers, not only to the injury of THE PEOPLE of Virginia, but to the oppression of the Southern slaveholding States.
Now, therefore, we THE PEOPLE of Virginia, do declare and ordain,That the ordinance adopted by THE PEOPLE of this State in Convention, on the twenty-fifth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight, whereby the Constitution of the United States of America was ratified; and all acts of the General Assembly of this State ratifying or adopting amendments to said Constitution, are hereby repealed and abrogated; that the Union between the State of Virginia and the other States under the Constitution aforesaid is hereby dissolved, and that the State of Virginia is in the full possession and exercise of all the rights of sovereignty, which belong and appertain to a free and independent State. And they do further declare,That said Constitution of the United States of America is no longer binding on any of the Citizens of this State."
|
When this voluntary union of states no longer functions as the Framers intended, and its infrastructure is used by a fanatical minority to suppress the people, it no longer binding on any state. It is time to re-constitute the Union among states who revere the Founders and the republic they gave us. States dominated by Marxists need not apply for admission in the new United States.

Yes, the states ought to seccede from DC (this will not dissolve the Union, by the way, because the Union was created via the Articles of Confederation which preceded the Constitution) and reinstitute a new federal Congress. Failing that, Texas at least ought to secede and reconstitute the Republic.
However, you and I both know neither one is going to happen. None of us have the power and influence to make it happen, either. Therefore what "we" really ought to do is quit the wishful thinking and instead focus on what CAN actually be done:
1. Realise we're in a transition phase into a China-style authoritarian system (Chinese-style communism/socialism).
2. Build your family to be as independent of the system as possible. This means independence as far as finances, health, education, etc etc. It also means transitioning your family into a more Biblically-directed life.
3. Build networks with other aware Christians and lay the foundations for a future alternative society. The less people need the existing system and provide their own socio-political-economic structures the better (see 1 Cor 6 for an example).
4. Avoid large politically oriented crowds unless you are there to conduct psychological operations or information gathering operations. If you don't know how to do that properly then STAY OUT OF THE MESS.
5. Keep track of who you know and their political leanings. Keep any leftists, liberals, or conservative statists at more than arm's length. Careful what you say: Loose lips sink ships.
6. Expect the unexpected.
7. Never compromise on the Word and the Gospel, even if it kills you. Remember what Jesus said in Mark 8:35.

Studying Texas' demographics, I'd say it is more likely that a Mexican majority will secede and rejoin Mexico. Of course, then the leftist scholars will begin echoing Jefferson Davis and John C. Calhoun on a State's right to secede. If a white majority state tries it, there will be a different standard.

Your idiocy and leftist brainwashing are showing. Seriously. Do people like you not have another card to play other than the race card? FWI, I am married to a Mexican. Kind of strange for a "racist" to marry outside of his race, huh?
But who cares? People like you are going to call people like me "racist" no matter what we say or don't say. As for my claims of re-conquistadores...

How is that racist? La Raza groups here use maps with most of the west/southwest states taken from the US.

It was a joke. But I’m an idiot brainwashed by the left, now.
Just another day on AFF.
I know what the maps look like. I don’t know anyone who holds to Raza ideology. Not-a-one. Most I know are conservative... And the treatment we get from the liberal Latinos... “Tio Tómas.” “Sell out.” Etc. An emotional response, because no one wants to discuss facts. All they know is that their Abuela told them that Democrats are for the poor, republicans are for the rich.
Anyway...
