The sad thing is, many still don't report rape. Because there is always in the back of your mind, no one will believe me, or I brought it on myself. Rape is NOT about sex, it's about power and violence against another person.
To muddy this topic is a horrible disservice to victims of rape.

I find it just as horrifying. The emotional scarring that the young men must feel.
Women can be child molesters and rapists. It is still about power and/or control. Some of the time it's someone with authority, or an authority figure.

True. I know it's not as prevalent. But it does happen.

I have heard preachers come close to preaching this.
They would use the Old Testament to justify the teaching.
The part where if she doesn't cry out in the city, then it was consensual.

But this goes right back to the heart of why some women don't report rape. It makes them feel ashamed, that they are somehow to blame. Because we were taught that for years. It is not about what you wear, where you are, or what you are doing.

I believe that it is every parents duty to somehow make sure their child knows what to do if these circumstances occur.
We have to do a better job of educating our children.
