Exclamation Public school and the Christian parent

(This is a rough draft of an article I am working on. Please excuse any typos or mistakes in formatting. I am copying this from the OpenOffice version I have. Once I get the thing finished I will publish it as a free pdf.)

Modern Public Education
an Abomination to God,
bringing the threat of hellfire
upon all parents who send their children
to Public Schools;
with Scriptural proofs, and objections answered.

All Scripture quotations from the King James Version.

Parents who send their children to public school are in danger of hellfire. They are in danger as much as the adulterer, thief, fornicator, or idolater are in danger. They may escape the judgment of God if they repent, but if they refuse to repent they will die in their sins. Thus, parents who send their children to public school will die in their sins and be eternally lost unless they repent.

I shall demonstrate that,
1 God holds parents accountable for their children's education and upbringing.
2 God holds parents accountable for what others teach their children.
3 God commands Christian, Biblical education of children.
4 Those who teach children to sin are damned unless they repent.
5 Those who allow children to be taught to sin are likewise damned unless they repent.
6 Public education is designed to teach children to sin.
7 Public education is controlled by the wicked.
8 All objections are useless – whether the good school district excuse; the salt and light excuse; the sunday school excuse; the family influence and devotions excuse; the exception excuse; the can't afford private school excuse; the can't homeschool excuse; or the state forbids it excuse.
9 All objections being refuted, it follows that parents who send their children to public school hate their children in their heart, which makes them doubly guilty of sin.
10 The responsibility of parents; churches; ministers/teachers; children is clear.

1 God holds parents accountable for their children's education and upbringing:
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: (7) And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Ephesians 6:4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Nurture: paideia
Thayer's Definition:
1) the whole training and education of children (which relates to the cultivation of mind and morals, and employs for this purpose now commands and admonitions, now reproof and punishment) It also includes the training and care of the body
2) whatever in adults also cultivates the soul, especially by correcting mistakes and curbing passions.
2a) instruction which aims at increasing virtue
2b) chastisement, chastening, (of the evils with which God visits men for their amendment)
“Bring them up, etc - Εκτρεφετε αυτα εν παιδειᾳ και νουθεσια Κυριου· literally, Nourish them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. The mind is to be nourished with wholesome discipline and instruction, as the body is with proper food. Παιδεια, discipline, may refer to all that knowledge which is proper for children, including elementary principles and rules for behavior, etc. Νουθεσια, instruction, may imply whatever is necessary to form the mind; to touch, regulate, and purify the passions; and necessarily includes the whole of religion. Both these should be administered in the Lord - according to his will and word, and in reference to his eternal glory. All the important lessons and doctrines being derived from his revelation, therefore they are called the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” (Clarke's Commentary)
“But bring them up - Place them under such discipline and instruction that they shall become acquainted with the Lord.
In the nurture - ἐν παιδεία en paideia. The word used here means “training of a child;” hence education, instruction, discipline. Here it means that they are to train up their children in such a manner as the Lord approves; that is, they are to educate them for virtue and religion.” (Barne's Notes)
Parents are commanded to teach their children, therefore they are accountable for their children's education, it's content, and morality. The education of children is nowhere mandated in scripture to anyone but parents. Anyone else who teaches children does so as proxies of the parents, and therefore as their agents. Therefore whatever is taught, the parents are accountable for.

2 God holds parents accountable for what others teach their children. Already proven above, but now more fully demonstrated:
Revelation 2:14-16 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. (15) So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. (16) Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

Revelation 2:20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
Christ had a few things against the angels of the churches of Pergamos and Thyatira because they allowed people to teach His servants to commit fornication and be involved in false religion. The angel of the church was responsible for what was being taught, even though he himself was not doing the actual, direct teaching. How much more will parents be responsible for what is being taught to the children He has given them, even if they themselves are not doing the direct, actual teaching itself? If the children are being taught immorality and false religious ideas (such as evolution, atheism, agnosticism, etc) then the Lord will have more than just a 'few things' against the parents! Those given the oversight of others are responsible for what is taught their charges by hired proxies and agents (such as the public school system). If wickedness is taught, then not only are the teachers guilty, but so are the ones who knowingly allow such wickedness to be taught to those entrusted in their care. And thus the angel of the church is told to repent for allowing false teachers to seduce those under his care, and parents likewise are to repent for allowing false teachers to seduce the children under their care. A command to repent implies one will be lost if they do not, for unless you repent you will die in your sins.

3 God commands Christian, Biblical education of children.
Deuteronomy 11:18-19 (18) Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. (19) And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Ephesians 6:4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Parents are commanded to ensure they teach their children the ways of God, and are commanded to bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. As before shown, “nurture” means the paidea, or whole system of instructing and educating children. The child's education is to be specifically Biblical and Christian. Failure to give one's children a Christian, Biblical education is a violation of the commands of God, and therefore sin. And unrepented sin will drown the soul in the lake of fire.

Re: Public school and the Christian parent

4 Those who teach children to sin are damned unless they repent.
Luke 17:1-2 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come! (2) It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
σκανδαλίζω
skandalizō
To scandalize; from G4625; to entrap, that is, trip up (figuratively stumble [transitively] or entice to sin, apostasy or displeasure): - (make to) offend. (Strong's Concordance)

To offend is not merely to annoy, but to cause someone to stumble or entice someone to sin and apostasy. It would be better for a person to be drowned in the sea, that is, to die a horrible death, than to cause a little one to stumble or entice them to sin. Why? Because dying a horrible death is not to be compared to being cast into the lake of fire on Judgment Day, that's why. One may die a horrible death, yet still be saved and enjoy eternal life. But dying a horrible death can only be better than not dying a horrible death, if the one who does not die a horrible death nevertheless dies in their sin, eternally lost. Thus, causing one of these little ones to offend, that is to say, to trip up or stumble or entice to sin or apostasy, will certainly result in a fate worse than a horrible death – it will result in eternal death for the one through whom the offence comes.
1 Samuel 12:23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:
Samuel, as a prophet, raised in the service of the priesthood from birth, was appointed by God to pray for and to teach Israel the good and right way, the ways of the Lord. He would have been sinning against God if he failed to do his duty. How much more sinful would it have been for him to actively teach Israel to sin and forsake God? Those who are responsible for teaching are required to ensure a Biblical, godly education for those they are supposed to be teaching. Whoever teaches is required to teach the good and right way, and not sin, immorality, wickedness and unbelief. Therefore, whoever teaches anyone to sin, sins against the Lord. How much more damnable are those who teach children to sin, and lead them into unbelief and immorality? How much more those who, responsible for teaching children the ways of God, instead pawn them off on the wicked to teach them to sin?
2 Kings 21:10-12 And the LORD spake by his servants the prophets, saying, (11) Because Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, which were before him, and hath made Judah also to sin with his idols: (12) Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle.
King Manasseh committed “abominations”, and had “done wickedly above all that the Amorites (Canaanites) did”. Part of his abominable sin was to make others sin, by encouraging sin and idolatry and departing from the Lord. To entice others to sin is abomination and wickedness, and the Lord will repay such sinfulness with vengeance. How much more to those who entice children to sin by departing from the Lord, and following false gods, and denying the Lord God, and to practice immorality and fornication?

5 Those who allow their children to be taught to sin are likewise damned unless they repent.
This follows from all that has been shown already. To allow someone to teach others to sin makes one a partaker in their sins.
1 Samuel 2:12-17 Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not the LORD. (13) And the priests' custom with the people was, that, when any man offered sacrifice, the priest's servant came, while the flesh was in seething, with a fleshhook of three teeth in his hand; (14) And he struck it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; all that the fleshhook brought up the priest took for himself. So they did in Shiloh unto all the Israelites that came thither. (15) Also before they burnt the fat, the priest's servant came, and said to the man that sacrificed, Give flesh to roast for the priest; for he will not have sodden flesh of thee, but raw. (16) And if any man said unto him, Let them not fail to burn the fat presently, and then take as much as thy soul desireth; then he would answer him, Nay; but thou shalt give it me now: and if not, I will take it by force. (17) Wherefore the sin of the young men was very great before the LORD: for men abhorred the offering of the LORD.
The sons of Eli the priest were sinning, and causing people to turn away from God. Their sin was “very great before the Lord”. It is a very great sin before the Lord to cause others to abhor the worship of God. But Eli was responsible for his sons, and did not intervene to put a definite stop to their wickedness. So God judged not only them, but Eli as well:
1 Samuel 3:11-14 And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle. (12) In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end. (13) For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not. (14) And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever.
How much more parents, who are responsible for teaching their children, and who have hired teachers to be their proxies and agents that teach wickedness and ungodliness to their children, and who refuse to put a stop to it by at least removing their children from the influence of such teachers? Judgment will come upon those who lead others away from God, as well as upon those who are responsible for those teachers who lead others away from God.

Re: Public school and the Christian parent

6 Public education is designed to teach children to sin.
This hardly needs proving, but consider the facts: The public education system was created and designed by ungodly and wicked men for the express purpose of indoctrinating children into the tenets and beliefs of those ungodly men. And this continues today, as the lies of evolution, “gay rights”, transgenderism, polytheism and atheism and agnosticism, socialism, statism, and practically every other abomination are drilled into young minds, 6 and a half hours per day, 5 days a week, 180+ days a year, for 12 years of the most formative and impressionable and important part of their lives. Here is proof the public education system in place today is intentionally designed and managed for the express purpose of destroying Christian and Biblical values, eradicating holiness, and leading children away not only from their parents, but especially from God. Consider these statements:
Newman, an international journalist and educator, said people are mistaken if they think American public schools are secular or impartial toward different religions. He said schools do try to force a religion on children, but it’s not Christianity; rather, it is humanism.
It all goes back to the famous American education reformer John Dewey, according to Newman. Dewey was one of the signers of the Humanist Manifesto, the very first plank of which reads, “Religious humanists regard the universe as self-existing and not created.” From there, the manifesto goes on to thoroughly reject most of the beliefs of Christianity and theism in general. It also calls for a “socialized and cooperative economic order” to replace the “existing acquisitive and profit-motivated society.”
Dewey’s humanist beliefs have trickled down into today’s U.S. public education system, according to Newman.
“This Humanist Manifesto really has become kind of a template and religious humanism is being taught in the schools,” he declared. “And people think humanism’s not a religion. Well, it is a religion. It has been found to be a religion by the courts because it is a religion. It has articles of faith. It is based on faith; there’s no actual evidence to support these ridiculous notions that there is no god or that we need to surrender private property or that we came from monkeys.”
Humanist author John Dunphy explicitly laid out the humanists’ plan when he wrote the following in the Humanist Magazine in 1983:
“[A] viable alternative to [Christianity] must be sought. That alternative is humanism. I am convinced that the battle for humankind’s future must be waged and won in the public school classroom by teachers who correctly perceive their role as the proselytizers of a new faith: a religion of humanity that recognizes and respects the spark of what theologians call divinity in every human being. These teachers must embody the same selfless dedication as the most rabid fundamentalist preachers, for they will be ministers of another sort, utilizing a classroom instead of a pulpit to convey humanist values in whatever subject they teach, regardless of the educational level.” Read more at http://www.wnd.com/2016/04/expert-go...KKLjLVdxKWO.99
Here's another interesting bit of information:
Perhaps the best known of the reformers who pushed the agenda of the public schools was Robert Owen. Owen (sometimes called the father of modern socialism) denounced all religion as the chief cause of human misery. In 1830 he wrote, “Now, when the effects of religion, as it has been hitherto taught, and imposed upon the human race, shall be followed through all their ramifications, it will be discovered that the religion of the world is the sole cause of all the disunion, hatred, uncharitableness, and crime, which pervade the population of the earth . . . . ” (3)
The salvation of the world (according to Owen’s socialist mind) depended upon the eradication of Biblical education. In order for socialism to take hold in this country (as it now has by way of socialized medicine, Social Security, universal health care, elimination of private property rights, etc.) the populace had to be re-educated. That is, the children of the culture had to be taught to accept socialist principles and programs without seeing the inconsistency of these principles with the true American (Biblical) view. In other words, the children had to be “dumbed-down” so that they would not realize that they were being trained in an un-American view of law and economics and government. The public school movement was the perfect vehicle to accomplish this end.
Another well known proponent of the public schools was Horace Mann. Mann had been reared in Calvinism but rejected it as a young man. To Mann, inequality (not sin) was man’s great enemy. If true equality was to be achieved, he reasoned, there must be equality of education and character. This made public schools, with a common curriculum, an absolute necessity. Mann said, “The common school is the greatest discovery ever made by man . . . . Let the common school be expanded to its capabilities, let it be worked with the efficiency of which it is susceptible, and nine tenths of the crimes in the penal code would become obsolete . . . .” (4)
Contrary to Biblical teaching, Mann believed the state to be the true parent of the child. Thus it was the state that had the primary responsibility of providing education. Along with Mann and some of his followers including Abram Combe and his son Robert Dale Owen, Owen later formed a secret society to work toward attaining his goals. Orestes Brownson, one of the leaders of this society, later wrote about the work of the group:
“The great object was to get rid of Christianity, and to convert our churches into halls of science. The plan was not to make open attacks on religion, although we might belabor the clergy and bring them into contempt where we could; but to establish a system of state — we said national — schools, from which all religion was to be excluded, in which nothing was to be taught but such knowledge as is verifiable by the senses, and to which all parents were to be compelled by law to send their children.” (5)
There you have it quite clearly stated. The purpose and mission of the public schools, which were to be “free to everyone at the expense of everyone,” was to get rid of Christianity, to compel parents to give their children over to the state so that they could be trained to disrespect their parents and their Christian republic and its moral culture without parental interference. For over one hundred and fifty years now, this mission has proceeded apace. Beneath its vacuous rhetoric purporting to “care about the kids”, this is the current mission of the National Education Association. And they are doing it quite well, thank you very much.

Re: Public school and the Christian parent

7 Public education is controlled by the wicked.
This has been demonstrated by the simple fact that the NEA, which controls public education, is fully in alignment with the goals of the founders of public education – the eradication of Christianity and the forming of a socialist, humanist utopia through the mechanism of the public school system.

http://www.deliberatedumbingdown.com...iet_Style.html This link demonstrates that modern education is based on B F Skinner's 'operant conditioning', that those who implemented this humanist approach knew full well what they were doing, and that it is specifically designed to mentally indoctrinate children to become docile, subservient, humanistic, atheistic socialists.

The book, The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America, written by Charlotte Iserbyt, former Senior Policy Advisor at the Office of Educational Research and Improvement (OERI), US Department of Education (under Reagan), extensively documents the fact that public education is managed, directed, and overseen by atheists, antichrists, humanists, communists, and assorted perverts. The public education system is run by the wicked, and parents who send their kids off to public school are surrendering their children into the control of Christ-hating reprobate sons of Belial to be educated and trained. Surrendering your children willfully to the wicked, for the express purpose of having them train your children in wickedness and unbelief, is a sin, and amounts to causing those children to stumble. It must be repented of, for both the child's - and the parent's - souls are at stake.

Psalms 26:4-6 I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers. (5) I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked. (6) I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O LORD:
Innocency is the condition of not being guilty of sin, and this requires hating the congregation of evil doers and not participating with or “sitting with” the wicked. By sending your children to public schools, which use an educational curriculum designed by the wicked to destroy your children's souls, you are far from innocent. Repentance is required if you desire to be forgiven, and if you desire to escape the judgment that awaits.
Psalms 71:4 Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
Our prayer should be for God to deliver us out of the hand of the wicked. Should we then surrender our children into the hand of the wicked, and pretend it is well with our souls?
Psalms 101:2-4 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. (3) I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me. (4) A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.
Being right with God includes rejecting any wicked thing (including wicked educational curricula), it includes hating the work of those who turn aside from God (including the educational curricula and methods devised by those who turn aside from God). It means one refuses to allow such products of wickedness to cleave to oneself. It means one refuses to associate with and partner with the froward and wicked, it means one will separate oneself from such people. Therefore, one who chooses instead to know a wicked person, to entertain the froward, to allow the works of apostates and atheists to cleave to oneself, to refuse to hate the works of those who have turned aside from God, and to set their eyes on wicked things and allow them place in one's life, is one who is not behaving wisely, is not upright in heart with God. How much more those who impose all these abominable things on their children? By partnering with the wicked and ungodly, to use wickedness and the work of those who turn aside from God as a means of educating one's children, one participates in the sins of the wicked and will surely receive of their plagues.
Psalms 140:4 Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
We should pray to be kept from the control and power of the wicked. We should pray to be preserved from the hands of those whose intention is to overthrow our goings, such as by attempting to subvert our children to sin, wickedness, and unbelief. We should not be joining in affinity with them, nor should we be giving our children to them to be “educated”.
Romans 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
After listing a multitude of wicked abominable sins, the apostle declares those who practice such things are worthy of death. Those things include being disobedient to parents, sodomy and lesbianism, fornication, hating God, being proud, and inventing evil things – all of which and more are taught in public schools to your children. And the apostle goes on to rebuke those who have pleasure in them which do such things. Those who send their children to public school have pleasure in them which teach their children to do these things, otherwise they wouldn't send their children into their clutches to be trained by them. Repentance is required. Either that, or the lake of fire.

Re: Public school and the Christian parent

8. All eight objections are useless – the good school district excuse; the salt and light excuse; the sunday school excuse; the family influence/devotions excuse; the exception excuse; the can't afford private school excuse; the can't homeschool excuse; the state forbids it excuse.

Objection 1 – The vast majority of parents believe that the nation's schools are terrible, but they also believe that their own school district is great or better than the rest. This is impossible, that most people know the public schools are bad, but yet the same people believe their own school district is the exception! This can only be explained by the fact that everyone wants to believe it is bad “over there” and not in their own school system, which is called denial. It is as if everyone believed that fast food restaurants are bad and unhealthy, but yet everyone believed their local fast food joint was the rare exception! If the nation's schools are bad, and if everyone everywhere believes so, yet everyone everywhere believes their own schools are fine, and not like the rest, then it follows that everyone everywhere is DELUDED. Either everyone's schools are fine, and thus none are really that bad and everyone is mistaken about everyone else's schools, or everyone is mistaken about their own schools. Either way, this excuse fails miserably.

Objection 2 – Sending children to be 'salt and light' is a failed excuse. It rarely turns out that way. Many studies show that as many as 75 percent of Christian children leave the church when they graduate from public high school. Most Christian students are not evangelising their schools, instead they are enticed to sin, afflicted with doubts and fears, suffer ungodly pressures from not only their peers but teachers and administrators. It is no different than a preacher who went to a strip club every week, and tips the dancers, and who says he is being “salt and light” to the sinners. Nay, who sends his CHILDREN to the strip club to be “salt and light”! Parents who say they need to send their children to public schools to be “salt and light” are simply making excuses for their laziness and apathy in regards to their children's upbringing. This excuse fails miserably.

Objection 3 – Sunday school? 30-45 minutes a week (if that) of supposed religious instruction (which often is really just mindless entertainments) are going to counteract and overthrow 40 hours per week of detailed, well-planned, intentionally antichristian indoctrination, which was specifically designed by psychologists and experts to counteract all that Sunday school and church influence? An indoctrination program which includes such incentives as massive unrelenting peer pressure, quick and easy access to sex and drugs, abortions on demand with no parental notification, free condoms, free instruction in perversions which are taught as great and desirable things to practice, along with unrelenting constant affirmation of lies, a steady unending diet of evolutionary fables, an artificial and well constructed yet wholly isolated environment which pretends God does not exist at all, where God is often actively denigrated? Not to mention the pressure of grades, threat of suspension, academic failure or success depending on one's collusion and cooperation with the ungodly and their ungodly ideologies, the threat of having one's “permanent record” marred for life, one's entire future life being dependent on one's performance in this socialist, humanist, antichristian system? What happens if a child “fails” Sunday school? Compare that to what happens if a child fails public school, and it is clear the amount of influence each will have on the mind and development of the child in comparison to the other. Yet another pathetic, failed excuse.

Objection 4 – Family devotions? Again, how can a few minutes every week, or even every day, counteract the sheer immensity of pressure brought to bear upon a child's mind by the ubiquitous and oppressive anti-God and anti-good public school system? Especially in light of the fact that statistics prove this approach simply does not work – most Christian youth who attend public school LEAVE THE FAITH when they graduate!

Objection 5 – The exception, the child who made it through public school but stayed true to God and remained true to God afterwards? The fact that such people are in fact exceptions proves the point: you are betting against the casino, and the souls of your children – and yours as well – are at stake. The majority of children who play in the middle of the highway get hit by cars. Does the fact that some children have played in the street and yet have not been hit justify sending your child to play in the street? Would you be a good, godly parent for doing so, betting against the odds, gambling on your child's life? No, it's another failed excuse.

Objection 6 – Can't afford private school? But you can afford cable tv, the multiple smart phones, the jet skis, the big screen tv, the restaurants, the extra car, the boat, this hobby and that hobby, the credit cards? You gain the world and lose your own soul. Amazingly, parents can't afford 1000-3000 dollars a year for Christian education, but can mysteriously afford to spend that amount on their kids anyway even with sending them to public school. And if one truly cannot cut any expenses to cover the cost of private Christian education without losing one's home, the lights being turned off, or starving (which would be highly unlikely) then consider homeschooling. Homeschooling is usually much less expensive than hiring a private school or tutor. In fact, homeless single moms have successfully homeschooled their kids. Kids have even homeschooled themselves. One could actually develop a homeschool curriculum that is entirely free using the internet, the local library, or a combination of both. Would you agree to send your child to hell, and yourself with them, because you “didn't have the money” to do otherwise? Most who make this excuse often have never actually sat down and seriously gone over their finances to see if it really was feasible. Thus, most who make this excuse just don't actually want to make the effort to give their children a Christian, Biblical education. Another fail, and the lake of fire still awaits.

Objection 7 – Can't homeschool? Says who? The cost is less than conventional private school. In fact, it could be done for free. Don't know how? You can learn a subject right along with your children. ANYTHING CAN BE DONE IF YOU HAVE THE WILL AND DETERMINATION TO DO IT. This writer and his wife homeschooled seven children, at times while being broke, unemployed, with no vehicle, effectively homeless living in someone else's garage, and when income was available it was a one-income budget. It can be done if you actually want to. And with the proliferation of free materials on the internet to help beginning homeschooling families, there really is NO EXCUSE.

Objection 8 – My state forbids it. We must obey God rather than men. If you won't give your child a Christian, Biblical education, and deliver them out of the hand of the wicked, simply because some evil, godless bureaucrat “disallows” it, then how can you possibly claim to be a Christian? Christian, but only if it doesn't cost time, money, effort, or stress? Another failed excuse, one which satan loves probably more than any other, because it is an admission of cowardice, pure and simple. And the fearful shall have their part in the lake of fire, according to Jesus Christ, in Revelation chapter 21 verse 8.

Re: Public school and the Christian parent

9 All objections being soundly refuted, it follows that parents who send their children to public schools actually do not love them, but truly hate them in their heart.
Leviticus 19:17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.
Hating your neighbour in your heart is manifested and proven by allowing their sin to stand unrebuked. How much more does this apply to our children? By allowing them to be taught sin, to be actively enticed to sin, by intentionally and willfully putting them into the hands of sinners, by intentionally sinning against them by failing to give them a thoroughly Christian and Biblical education, it shows that we don't love them at all. We feel happy feelings towards them maybe, but we do not love them as God defines love. Making allowances for sin is not love, but hate – hatred of God, hatred of our neighbour. Making allowances for sin, indeed creating opportunities for our children to be enticed to sin, cannot possibly be Biblical love. If not rebuking your neighbour when he sins is declared by God to be hating your neighbour – for which you will definitely burn in the lake of fire unless you repent – then how much more hateful is it to intentionally and willfully toss your children to modern day priests of Moloch to be devoured by ungodliness?
1 John 5:2-3 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. (3) For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
Love is demonstrated by obedience to God's commandments. God commands we educate our children with a thoroughly Christian and Biblical education, and commands that we protect them from the wicked. If we love them, we will obey God and ensure their education is Christian and Biblical. If we do not obey God, then we do not love them. It really is that simple.
Romans 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
Public education clearly harms our children, not only mentally and emotionally, but spiritually. Knowing this, refusing to withdraw them from such a spiritually abusive environment is refusing to love them. Our children are, after all, our neighbours, too. Hating your neighbour sends you to the lake of fire, as certainly as anything. Those who hate their neighbour are lost, and in danger of hellfire. Repent, love your children, do not suffer sin upon them and do not place them in environments that are designed to entice them into sin, immorality, and unbelief!

10 The responsibility of parents; churches; ministers/teachers; children.
Parents are responsible for raising their children in the paidea of the Lord – a thoroughly and intentionally Christian and Biblical educational regimen. There is no avoiding this responsibility. Parents are directly accountable to God for whatever is taught to their children by anyone hired by the parents to that task, including public schools. You, father and mother, are responsible and accountable for the curriculum that your child is exposed to. If your child is taught lies and immorality and unbelief, YOU will be liable. Parents will answer to God not only for how they personally instruct their children, but also for what they allow their children to be taught by others. Churches are responsible for supporting parents and families in that endeavor by whatever means possible and practicable, but especially by fostering a culture where Christian education is the expected, Biblical norm, and where public education is only a temporary situation that sinners find themselves in from which they are expected to repent. Whenever possible, as far as they are able, churches must make Christian education possible for all members of the local assembly. Whether by teaching parents how to homeschool, or by giving parents access to educational resources, or by establishing a church-run private school system, churches must make Christian education not only ideal, but available. Ministers, teachers, and preachers have the responsibility of making sure everyone is aware of their God-ordained responsibilities. You are obligated to warn parents of the danger of hellfire that awaits unreprented sin, you are obligated to exhort and encourage parents to love their children and raise them Biblically, and to save their children from the snares of the wicked and the unbelieving. You must exhort parents to be aware of the dangers of modern public education, and you must warn them that they sin against God, against their children, and against their own souls if they do not do everything they can to rescue their children from the wicked and the ungodly. As God-ordained watchmen, their blood - and that of their children - will be required of you if you fail to warn them.

And children, if you find your parents won't save you from the ungodly and sinful public school system, then you must covenant with God to abstain from all evil and wickedness, and refuse the lies of the Christ-deniers, and pray for deliverance. You must read and study the Holy Word of God so that you can identify the lies and deceptions that will confront you almost daily. Establish and maintain a close relationship with God through prayer and obedience to the Word. You are in an unfortunate situation. Thankfully, though, if you are resolute to remain faithful to God in the midst of a sea of wickedness, as Joseph was while in Egypt, then you can escape the snare of the devil – if you maintain covenant with God. And pray for your parents, that God will grant them repentance and save them from the hellfire that awaits all who remain unrepentant regardless of their religious affiliations or professions. For it is written, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, AND THY HOUSE.” Acts 16:31

Re: Public school and the Christian parent

I sent my son to Bible Truth Academy, his Principal was his Pastor.

homosexuality, transgender and acceptance of diversity is being preached in public schools now, our world is only getting worse.

The book linked above will be read to our kids in public school, that long with Disney's gay agenda, and all the other things kids are bombarded with will make it a tough job for parents to raise Christian kids.

Re: Public school and the Christian parent

Elder Gary Howard's church has a distance learning program for homeschool students. My wife and I will be looking into that when out kids reach school age.
