Then Peter said . . .

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." (Acts 2:38-39)

If you haven't accepted the promise and obeyed the command, why not?

Most here probably have. In the real world the majority have not. Why? Because as a new convert you do as you are instructed. They want to be baptized. When the Preacher does it he does it without the understanding of the scripture in Matt. 28:19 that says to do it in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Baptisim is obviously for new converts. A new convert knows nothing of Theological controversy between schools of Christian belief. He wants to do what is right therefore knowing nothing or little of scripture at that point he submits to what the Pastor instructs.

He then is happy he has obeyed and moves on. Then perhaps years later he meets a Oneness Pentecostal who shares the rightly divided word concerning Matt. 28:19 and Acts 2:38. With joy he is now enlightened to this truth and wants to be baptized again, into the name of Jesus Christ.
