When is TV any good.....

As you said, there are a LOT more things in our lives that can stop our walk with God other than JUST TV!

And isn't it funny that TV in the upci is frowned upon, yet the INTERNET is embraced? A lot more stuff goes on in the internet than on TV any day of the week!

It all depends on what show you watch or what site you visit,etc.

In other words, if it is in your heart, you don't even have to HAVE a TV to commit sin.

5 years later and it still belongs in the trash... and if someone watches tv on their phone or looks at ungodly junk then it belongs in the trash too.

If you don't like TV, then don't own one. I have not had one in years. But I feel no compulsion to admonish others who feel differently.

I don’t own one and I admonish other all the time to get rid of them.

No TV for 10 years this last stretch. Went another 10 during the 70's and 80's. Yet I would not say in a sweeping rule TV should be forbidden. If there were no Internet I would probably have one to keep up with the news.

I agree with the idea that there is far more POTENTIAL for falling into sin with the Net than with TV.

Good keep it up. I do see your point about the internet. That’s why my wife and I have a lot of checks and balances with our internet access on the phones and all. I do use the forum and here and there for “ entertainment “ but we generally use the internet for a tool not an entertainment source.

Brief add to the 6 year old thread..........

So if the internet or TV is used for entertainment then that is when the rocks start flying? Where this all really got silly is when preachers started boycotting certain fellowship circles over video that was strictly promoting church growth etc. I guess they probably still do. What is the rationale? If I watch this then I'll go rent an R rated movie??
