Pentecostal Anniversary
May 20th is an anniversary for me.
May 20, 1956 was Pentecost Sunday according to the Church calendar.
May 20, 1956 is the date that I was baptized in the Holy Spirit.
Or, you could say it is the day I received the HGB (Holy Ghost Baptism).
This happened on a Sunday night at Bethel Tabernacle UPC in Racine, Wisconsin. I was 18 years old.
I had been baptized in Jesus' Name on October 27, 1955 at Elim Tabernacle (UPC) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the age of 17. I was a senior in high school. I attended that service in Milwaukee at the invitation of Tex Hansen. I had gone to school with Tex most of my life.

Hmmm I think I was baptised May 20th 1986, and recieved the HG baptism July 10th of the same year. It was the best of times and the worst of times...

I sort of missed a few years of what would be considered "normal" youth due to the circumstances.
Please know... God has been very good to me!!

You almost got my hubby's birthday. You were born of the spirit May 20, 1956 and he was born of the flesh two days later!

I assume you mean
Bro. Barnett in Kenosha, WI (a neighboring church but I was never there)
Bro. Ellis in Milwaukee, WI (that's where I got baptized by Bro. L.R. Mitchell)
Bro. Thompson in Racine, WI was my pastor. He took over after Bro Mitchell left for North Dakota. Bro. Mitchell had already left when I started attending the Racine church. I had visited there a couple of times previously when he was pastor.
Bro. Johnson was in Madison, WI. He was married to Ace Summer's daughter. When I was in St. Paul, MN I was quite friendly with a young lady from his church. Her parents and some of the other families had left that church because of some problems.
I assume you mean Bro. Norris of ABI fame.
I'm not familiar with Bro. Ebright.
At that time there was a Bro. Brookes in S. Beloit, IL (on the Wisconsin/Illinois state line); a Bro. Shepherd from somewhere in Wisconsin; Bro. McGuire (spelling?) from Genesee Depot or Mukwanago, WI; who were in our fellowship circle. There was a couple in Marshfield, WI named Sam and Sadie Hardt (spelling?)who pastored a church in a house where I visited twice and first prayed to receive the HGB. There was also a Bro. Sass (spelling?) in or near Milwaukee who was independent but I don't remember seeing him at our fellowship meetings or ever going to his church.
