I just wept and wept on my way home from feeding the children.... They are rowdy, undisciplined and dirty.... yet they long to be loved...bunches of them said to me Grandmother kiss me...I kissed them...they got in line for a kiss...so hungry for love...they did not ask to be born into the world they were born in...a world where survival is for the strong...a world of drugs...a world of prostitution...a world where little girls and boys lose their innocence at a very young age...little girls that should be still playing with dolls are hardened by abuse...
Probably 20 or more got back in the line for another hug...a kiss...longing to be loved...oh how my heart aches for them...
Tomorrow is their day here at our church...they are coming to play...to eat...to swim...
Our hands will be full!
They can eat all the hotdogs they want...cotton candy...cold drinks...popcorn....candy and whatever else they want....
There is still time to help us....they only start coming at 2:30 in the afternoon....

In just a few hours...around 150 of them will come to our place to celebrate Children's day...along with some of the adults....
We go into these areas...they trust us....you see and find out all kinds of things....however we are there to feed them and to tell them about Jesus...we ask NO questions...It is very dangerous....
These sweet babies were born into a world of crime...a world of drugs...many are abused...It is beyond sad....

I've been there and I will agree that it is a dangerous place. The last time I went was in the back of an open cart, being pulled by a truck. There are drug lords, prostitutes, and homeless little kids.
They all need Jesus! I thank God for the Alvears who are willing to go among the "least of these" to share the love of Jesus. You never know who will come out of these slums!
