Re: COVID is it still a thing?
A lady we know came to visit us. She had recently been in Michigan to visit family. She said she talked to over 200 people while there, and not one single person she talked to had ever had COVID or personally knew anyone who did.
My son commented "Yeah, but my cousin's girlfriend's uncle's dogcatcher's brother-in-law was in the WTC on 9-11, so..."

How many people died of the flu this year?

Re: COVID is it still a thing?
CDC:
Finally, NCHS collects death certificate data for all deaths occurring in the United States, and these data are aggregated by the week of death occurrence. In previous flu seasons, the NCHS surveillance data were used to calculate the percent of all deaths occurring each week that had pneumonia and/or influenza (P&I) listed as a cause of death. Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, COVID-19 coded deaths were added to P&I to create the PIC (pneumonia, influenza, and/or COVID-19) classification. PIC includes all deaths with pneumonia, influenza, and/or COVID-19 listed on the death certificate.

I read an article that said the rate of mortality for flu has plummeted this year. I’m sure Trump will get ALL of the credit from the MSM.

Good for her. So I guess the family, friends, and acquaintances I know and have been around are lying about having COVID?
This is stupid. One extreme is claiming COVID is the apocalypse while the other is denying it even exists. Meanwhile, I'm here in the middle recognizing that there is such a virus but that it has an incredibly high recovery rate.

Re: COVID is it still a thing?
I took care of a patient that thought it was all hype/ not real until he got it. It put him on a life support. When I got him he was a high O2 flow machine and couldn't even stand to take a couple steps without his o2 levels dropping drastically. He is a believer now!!

Re: COVID is it still a thing?
My niece works in the maternity ward. Had a pregnant mom come into the ER with respiratory issues. Had previously tested negative with the rapid test, wasn't having any symptoms until that day. They put her in a room and 10 minutes later she coded and they had to resuscitate her. Took a few minutes but they got her back. They did the nasal swab and she tested positive.
My niece said it was the worst case she's seen. Usually, it's been mild symptoms. This lady had no underlying issues other than being pregnant.
