How To Use Quotes

How do I quote parts of a post, multi-quote. And bold certain words? Step by step instructions, please. I never get it right.

Re: How To Use Quotes

To quote a post, hit the quote button in the bottom right corner of any post, it will automatically load that post in a new reply window for you. Just scroll to the end of the quoted post, and type your message/reply.

The quoted post will have tags around it that look like this: [ QUOTE=Cindy;1018999 ] Blah, blah, blah. [ /QUOTE ] As long as you don't mess with the code (the words in the brackets) you can change anything inside them. For every [ QUOTE ] you have to have an end tag [ /QUOTE ]. Just don't mess those codes up, and you'll be fine. If something gets deleted, just re-type them and put them back.

To multi-quote, hit this button: You can hit that same button as many times as you'd like in a thread to quote posts, and when you're ready to create your own post, it will auto-load those quotes. You can also switch to a different thread and multi-quote, but it won't auto-load into your reply window. Instead, below the reply window it will state: 'You have selected 1 post that is not part of this thread. Quote this post as well, or deselect this post.' Make your choice if you want to include it in your current post, or deselect to delete it.

To make words bold, highlight the word(s), then click on the , same with the option to Italicize , or underline .

To change the color, highlight your word(s), and select a color from the drop-down menu .

And to add a URL, click the earth with the link button.

BB Code is what the forum uses. It's the IMG between the brackets. [ IMG ] to post an image, and the URL for posting web addresses. [ URL ]
