It became obvious to me when I was in school that it was being controlled, not to educate and empower, but to produce people just smart enough to get a job, but not enabled to create one.

Who but the central bankers, and robber Barron's of the early 19th century could plan to develop such a thing.

Plato, in his Republic. Also, the Spartans believed that children belonged to the city-state, which was responsible for their education.

The Prussian model is simply one of the latest iterations of societal control of childhood education, in the hands of socialists, designed to manage society.

Indeed correct...I guess I was thinking only in modern. Terms.
